DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I do have a 78 skunk but it was in front of the 79. I have the title for the burgandy one with the black tank it says 1979. The 78 i rebuild two years ago when i was 16 it was a christmas gift from my dad it came in three baskets and two trucks

OMG Anthony, that '78 is a beauty. Pictures! Pictures!

:D
I saw the title and just had to link this

;)
But I will tell you this, the BLACK engine is WAY faster than the silver engine.
:hand:
Seriously you take two of the exactly same bike one with the BLACK 16V and another with the silver 16V, no contest, the BLACK 16V will waste the silver engine bike.;)

my winter drag bike project is almost done. I am waiting for a braded stainless steel brake line and wet sand and buff two more weeks let her rip . I want to break at least 100mph in the 1/8 with the 13 front and the 42 rear gearing (530 convertion) keeping my finger crossed LOL

ant
How are you going to get a 13 tooth 530 front sprocket to keep the chain off the swingarm? I don't think it will clear. Also, everyone with experience KNOWS the black motors are faster! LOL!!! Ray.

Ray is definately right. 13 WONT clear, it will drag the swinger. 14 wont clear either. This i know from trying it.

It is already on the bike. It is close but not touching. The bike is strutted and it also has 8in over extensions welded and we shimmed the sprocket out 5/8 of a inch maybe that has something to do with it, also there is no play in the chain what so ever. my dads friend charley sobiech who worked for c&w in Florida did not believe it either until he saw it in person. the side of the frame had to have a little touch up with the grinder but that is it when I get a chance I will send you a pick
anthony

p.s. charley said I was going to have to shift as soon as I let the cluch out. what do you think ? he also said the proper gear for the bike should be a 3.0

Let's see some more.
We just went thru Endicott again last Tues and Wedn.for another family funeral out west of you. One of these times we will have to meet up for lunch or coffee.

the drag bike Its alive

the drag bike Its alive

After the set up with the new carbs (38mm flat slides RS's BRAND NEW ) the bike stalled on the line we reset the timeing to 35 and back to the line, green light and stalled again pushed her back to the pits (OUT OF GAS doe) filled her up. one more try and wamo 6.65 at 104.5 then 6.7 for the rest of the night. It is real fun to beat up on new croch rockets with old iron. I will be tweaking
with timing and jetting to get her better ( with the 13 42 gear ratio I am going through the traps just into 4th gear )

thanks for all the help everybody
