A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello again everyone! I know there is probably a thread or 12 about this but can you guys tell me your favorite online parts dealers? Fortunately I only need a gasket for the clutch cover at the moment but I know that wont be the last thing I need (or want) ;)

Thanks for the replies. I am looking to get a gasket for the clutch cover and I am seeing two different options (model d and model z). Can someone explain the difference?

Regardless it looks like the gasket is the same for either. Am I right that the only gasket I will need is 11482-49202-H17

Thanks

It is an 83 1100es. I am still learning about the different models so I appreciate the info. I imagine the 1100 e is same as 1100es?

same engine.

Only difference is ES has electronic tach and E uses mechanical tach.

1 year manufacture in 83. There are quite a few nice examples out there and quite a few owners of ES's here on the forum.

Engine and Chassis basically same as the E. The fairing is unique and can be pretty valuable.

I would like to get a service manual but wasnt sure which to get. Can you recommend one? I see you are rebuilding the exact same bike. I have everything for mine original with the exception of the black chrome pipes. I hear those can be very hard to come by as well. I was fortunate to pick this one up at Barber over the weekend.

There are slight differences in the wiring harness, and the instrumentation is different for the ES. The manual can be downloaded from BassCliff's web site. The only useful one is the factory service manual, which is what he has. I purchased a paper copy from eBay, but there is currently not one listed there.
