    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Oops I forgot where the wires go...

The title is pretty much self explanatory... Anyways I tore my bike down to the frame and as I am reassembling it I have forgotten where some of the wires go beneath the side covers...

To cut to the chase I was wondering if anyone (with the same or similar setup bike) could a take a picture of their wiring under their side frame covers so that I know where they go!!

Yes I know it's a dumb mistake to not take accurate pictures before disassembly but I did take some but not enough unfortunately...

P.S. my bike is an 1982 Suzuki GS300L with only 511 original miles... Still!!

Sorry, can't help much with the wiring, but a manual should have a routing diagram for you.
If you have the components mounted in the bike, you can drape the harness in there and see how it falls between contacts with the various components.

Haha it has 511 non-orginal miles too :D

The routing diagram isn't much help really and its only a few wires in the rear on the bike that I have no clue where they go but I know that they have something to do with the turn signals cause their the only thing not working on the bike... well besides the motor currently lol

Are you saying that you don't know how to route the harness or that you don't know what plugs in to the various connectors?

If it's a matter of what to plug in, what are the wire colors in the connectors? That will be a big clue, as Suzuki used a rather standard color scheme for most of their bikes.

Or, you could post some pictures for visual identification.

No my wiring harness is routed correctly, I just have mainly these two wires that I don't know where they go but I know that they have to deal with the turn signals since they are the only electrical parts on the bike not functioning
 
Ones black with a white tracer and the other is a black wire with a smaller white tracer. They both have the round circle connectors on them, like the kind that you put bolts through.
 
On mine, the black/white wires are grounds. Where are they on the bike?

Black wires with a white tracer (regardless of size) are ground wires.

Are they in the middle of the bike, near the battery, or at the back?

If they are in the middle, they need to be attached to a bolt in the frame to ground the wires.

They're new the middle of the bike near around the battery so I wasn't sure where they went but I'll try to ground them tomorrow, Thanks!!
