A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Opinions on this seat

I picked this up awhile back and have never installed it. I was planning on using it on my current project. The rider seat height is about the same as the stock seat, but the passenger seat is a bit higher. It looks a bit odd without the seat trim and grab bar... i just set it on the Skunk to get an idea. The seat itself is nicely made. What do you think?

Its a nice looking seat, but looks a bit goofy on the Skunk. Might look better with the grab bar, but IMO the Skunk needs to stay sleek. BUT it IS a nice looking seat for something else :)

Bruce, I think this is a case of you're still not fully awake.
Please don't put that on the bike. Get it off right now!

 It's definately not for the Skunk. I just stuck it on there to see how it looked. I bought it for my other 1000, which will be "themed" after the 1150. But I'm not sure about it either. I might just sell it, or keep it for the pan.

That seat does look very comfy but the pillion is a little high. Looks like it was made to match up with a backrest or little rack. Or maybe from a bike with bags.
But then...I had a heck of a time keeping my eyes on the seat... man that swingarm! and that clutch cover! Having a black engine I kind of forget how pretty shiny can be.

Could a good upholstery person remove a portion from the bottom of the foam and kinda thin it down then reuse that cover ?

Looks like an L seat. (keep your anti L comments to yourselves lol )

Edit: Oh and n1 elky's photochop does look better, but I'm not sure I'd want my passenger on a downward angle off the back, unless you're trying to get rid of said passenger :D

Yea that could be bad. I guess it would be more of a way to make a cheap solo seat.

It depends

It depends

I think from an aesthetic standpoint it's really ugly. The question is, what do you plan to use it for? Honestly, That looks like a pretty damn comfortable seat. If it was going on a bike that I planned on racking a lot of miles on to, I'd run it in a second. If I was putting on a bike that was going to be in fashion show...not so much. I guess it's like a fat chick. fun to ride, you just don't want your buddies to see you.

Well, I've got an L and the stepped seat kind of annoys me. The riding position is a lot better now that I swapped handlebars and lowered the brake pedal (used to be 2cm above the peg ), but I still think being back another couple inches would help.

It looks bloated to me. But if comfort is your main concern...

It looks like dooty-squat...but it does go nicely with the roto-tiller handle-bars...... (where's the 'WindJammer'?\\:D/)
...but it's not my ride. :-D

I like your bike (a LOT!), but I'd go a sportier direction...but I don't get to ride it, you do...so it's an owner thing.

:-D...nice bike!
