A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Paint colour

www.diablocycle.com can set you up with a stripe kit. Very good quality product. As far as the teal color goes, you might go to an auto paint store where they can let you thumb through their 1,000's of paint chips until you find one that's as close as possible. That's a pretty color that was real popular on 60's and 70's cars. Might narrow the search down that way.

i might have info on the teal blue from when i had my bike repainted years ago. click on my avatar and open the album to view the bike.

EDIT... Dont bother looking for the album. Seems when the forum was recently " UPGRADED" things got lost and deleted.

I will get to my storage unit tomorrow and dig around for the paint mix. im about 90 percent sure i got it from the painter.

did some searching and the B model was Potomac Blue Metallic and the C model was PEARL BLACK BLUING which is what i recall the painter telling me the bike original color was. The paint code is 05T. I will dig up my notes and report back tomorrow for sure. Scroll to page 4 here and youll find that same paint code

According to notes taken from when my bike was repainted it was indeed done in PEARL BLACK BLUING. And i recall the painter saying he used black underneath it first. Dont know if they make black primer but that would eliminate black paint i would think.

My opinion again, the "77" bright (sort'f turquoise) blue GS750's were beautiful, the "78" dark drab (kind'f like the "83" GS1100E's) were awwful...Don't we love opinions?

Thanks but I think you’ll find those colours relate to US models. Furthermore, the Suzuki 3 letter codes do not mean anything within the paint supplier world :(

This is the colour I’m trying to match. https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/suzu/suzuki_gs750 76.htm

I know the paint code isnt worth squat in the automotive world. I supplied it and its suzukis code for PEARL BLACK BLUING which i also stated in the post you are quoting. You can either believe me or take a tin you have and have the supply houses scan it. US or otherwise its still PEARL BLACK BLUING regardless of what market its in.

Thanks for your reply. While I don’t doubt that you have the correct colour for your bike, Pearl Black Bluing, it isn’t the blue I’m after:

Pearl Black Bluing as seen on your link below is too dark.

i believe my colour is shown as Strato Blue in that link

Thanks for that, not sure if the Suzuki was metallic though but let’s leave that for another day! This UK company does appear to supply it but of course don’t ship overseas. Think I will probably end up going with the Nissan colour Saviem Blue

Edit: RS does ship overseas
