A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! 8O  that last post is the one that i was looking for. now I have to find the right bolts and these fiber washers.. or make them thanks!!!! P.S. gas eats teflon tape--- allready tried it!!! turns it into mush but thanks anyway
On the teflon tape thing. Lots of us use it on our fuel valves and have no problems. Perhaps we all should discuss this tape item. I thought that the pingel company had teflon tape listed as one of the items necessary to use in the valve installation.????
Pingel does say to use teflon tape.I used the standard white tape from local hardware store and had no problem. There are other colors of teflon tape such as yellow and pink. I just read the label on the yellow, says it is for gasoline, natural gas, propane, etc. I bought it for sealing a natural gas pipe. The white does'nt say. Maybe I should have used the yellow? Like I said,I did'nt have a problem with the white. I've seen pink before but don't know what it's used for.

I just completed a small experiment with white teflon tape(purchased at Home Depot in the plumbing dept.) and gasoline. I placed a small 2" strip of white teflon tape in a small container of gasoline for several minutes and when I removed the tape there was no loss of integrity to the tape even though it turned clear. So my conclusion is at least the teflon tape I used is not affected by gasoline. Maybe the difference is in the colors?

I had the same problem.............went back to the fibre washers and no more leaks. I bought a dozen last time around should last about 6 petcock removals. Sealants work but by the time you keep gooping it on the head of the bolts, it looks like crap and there is no more paint on your generator cover.

Go with the washers, they should have used a blind hole instead of a through hole, real poor design.

Perhaps it wasnt actually teflon tape i picked up. I dont remember it was quite a few years ago . since iv found locktite P.S.T. so i no longer use teflon tape. Good call on that POOR design :x
