A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yo! I pulled apart my petcock, and it does indeed have some cracks and whatnot in the diaphragm.

Anywho, the little piece of metal that fits into the body like a snap ring (this is allll the way inside the petcock from the position selector) is what I'm wondering about. I think it was pretty mangled, but I'm not totally sure. Maybe it's a stop or something...

I should have taken a photo, I took pics of everything else haha. :o

That is the little part that gives you your "PRIme" function when you turn the petcock anti-clockwise.

If it's not installed correctly, PRIme will not work.

.

Hmmm. Any info on what it's supposed to look like? An image of one that wasn't mangled would be extremely useful.

What I bent it back into seemed right. Sort of a flat C shape on top about a millimeter wide with a straightened portion on one end. The bottom is another C shape but its flat portion is perpendicular to the top's flat.

You could almost cut a similar shape out of a tin can.

Have the same problem with the mangled piece. I've tried to find a fiche of the petcock to no avail. I don't even know what way it's supposed to go in if I could get it back into shape.

So...if I leave that twisted but out will it work, but no PRIme?

Sorry, didn't mean to hack your thread.

I think this is what the profile (the side view) of the G shaped thingamajig should look like. The red line is a center line. I think the rest is explained on the photo.

Does that look right to anybody?

I saw this post days ago, but -how can I put this simply?- stop messing around and get new petcock for $60. Don't worry, there will be plenty of other problems to keep you busy.
