A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Interested in planning a Route 66 ride this spring for those in the area that would like to do a one day or weekend ride. Possible weekend, take the 60 to Wickenberg, 93 to I-40, West to Needles. Then take the Oatman Hwy. to Kingman, old 66 to Seligman, I-40, Williams, Flag and then home. Anyone up for something like that? About 600 mi.

Sounds fun...would be the first "big" trip since the bike was restored to running condition.

Keep me in mind...my e-mail is

Sometime in March would be good probably, the weather is warming up and it's not hot in the valley. My son is finishing up at NAU next semester and I can spend the evening with him having a great micro brew in Flag.

Sounds good to me,,,if you want a riding partner let me know.

Too bad I'm not in the area, I like doing old RT 66. Take it a little further out of Needles and go thru Amboy. That's a real neat stop there too.:D They even have gas available there now for decent prices. See my 2010 CA ride post for some pictures.

Dantheman,

Where can I find your photos, I can't find that place on google maps.

I night be up for it if I happen to be in So Cal at the time.

Personally, I really like US60, but a ride is a ride, and my brother (with a 1000G) lives in the Phoenix area...

Have you been to Tombstone? I was looking at that on the map.

Hopefully, in about 30 min or so, I'll locate my ride posts from my CA trips, you'll be able to find them. I'll also shoot a Google map shortcut here when I edit this post.
First edit: Here's my ride thread from Sept 2010. My '07 ride apparently is no longer in the forum, as it doesn't show up in threads started by me. http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=165302 . I'll get the map stuff for you shortly.

2nd edit: OK, here's the map from Needles to Amboy. There are some pretty good pictures of Amboy on Google too. http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Needles,+CA&daddr=34.7919319,-115.1448152+to:34.56401,-115.49604+to:Amboy,+CA&hl=en&sll=34.741612,-115.150452&sspn=0.569875,1.229095&geocode=FTy9EwIdjCAr-SkzijXhciPOgDHzlA3hF6hfIA%3BFfvhEgIdkQcj-SlnAm83p8XPgDFFt8dk6h49Dg%3BFapnDwIdmKsd-Sl9NzfMxfzPgDG7HpAl8XlLjQ%3BFUxPDwIdR-EZ-Sl1P1nruFbFgDHJV4ADyUpTkg&vpsrc=6&mra=dpe&mrsp=1&sz=10&via=1,2&t=m&z=10

Not recently and not on my bike, that would be worth a look. I personally really enjoy the 60 also, all the way to Socorro. Did that in May, on my way to Austin.

Looks interesting, definately the road less traveled. All we need now is a little warmer weather and a weekend.
