If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Saturday

Vote Tally

Burque 1, Rich 3, bccap 5, Cowboy 2, Trevor 2

Someone could verify, but I count Mr bccap as the winner to select the next topic-theme-category.

............. BCCAP ...................................... Curious though, both hands are on the bars, photo is centred and low (chest mount GoPro?) and the mirrors are turned out?

Edit: Just a guess but it's a frame from a tank mounted GoPro or equivalent and mirrors turns out to declutter the picture. ...................

My guess is that the mirrors appear that way as a result of using a wide angle lens (in which case that is quite a curvy road).
I was impressed with that photo for including both grips/hands (and both mirrors), which is a Bikers View but dont typically see in photographs.

I concur....cap with 5

bccap, congratulations and what theme do you have for us this week...?

I thought that at first too but the grips and hands aren't that distorted. OK Garth what did you do?

Congrats, Garth bccap! The world wants to know how you got that winning shot!
And what's next?

I have a limited amount of photos to choose from so I'm going to get a bit creative. I like to see where people live. So this week's theme is " Where You Live " Lots of latitude here... Your favorite restaurant , a building you like to stop at and enjoy, Something you like doing where you live. The ball is in the photographers court. I like to go hang out at this beach in the summer and relax and enjoy the view..... And Redman you are right ..... No manipulation of the picture of the mirrors.. Just a wide angle lens......

I'll go with BCCAP as well. Great shot or great something. Curious though, both hands are on the bars, photo is centred and low (chest mount GoPro?) and the mirrors are turned out?

Edit: Just a guess but it's a frame from a tank mounted GoPro or equivalent and mirrors turns out to declutter the picture. Looks like a rolling shutter effect on the grass that sort of gives away.

Yup.... Tank mounted GoPro..... But the mirrors aren't turned out. Just wide angle distortion........

Good. Expect to see lots of different scenes.

Could joke about "latitude" of various places folks live.

I took this pic today....on top of the Malahat over looking the Pacific and across the water to where I live....

One thing particular about this area is "the lake", which is about 4 miles west of my house.
Lake Michigan.
Cqkk1z8.jpg

I could go 25-50-75 miles south, and the lake will still be to the west.
I could go 25-50-100-150 miles to the north, and the lake will still be to the west.
When standing along the shore, looking at the lake, it is as far as can see to the left, and as far as can see to the right, and cant see across to the other side (60-90 miles), the entire horizon, from left to right is all water, it might as well be an ocean, I know is not as big as an ocean, but standing there looking, it looks about the same.

Not too many places, but are some where can get a somewhat unobstructed view.

Having trouble with this one....I used one possible back in December for the "...show a bit of the personality of where you live" theme.
Don't want to use it again.

I know what I want to share...It's the thing I love the most about living here. Just can't seem to figure a way to get a bike involved in a photo.

Roger, that is a beautiful photo.

Thanks Steve. It was challenging to get the light just at the right time so you can still see the bike and Sandia mountains but with most of the city lights on.

That's on Route 66, or Central Ave, just as you come over the hill into town from the West.

I can ride out of my driveway and this is typical of what I see.

I have another picture in mind, but in the event I don't get to take it or it doesn't look right, I give you this entry of my bike plus others in front of West Virginia's infamous www.hillbillyhotdogs.com, which is 7 miles from my door. I've also left our mark there (see second and third photos).

Jan 5th, 2017 we drove all day through driving snow, to get to our new home in TN.
Two weeks latter, I was on a bike, 30 minutes from home, visiting Big Ridge State Park.
Warm weather riding in January...and great roads to boot.
This is from that day, January 18th at 12:15pm.
