DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

There's a buck running up the hill to the right. It's the reddish brown blur.
And my mirror is pictured in the lower left corner.

(edited to add a clearer shot of a different deer. TWO different deer -- if you look closely, there's one in the brush to the right as well)

Went out today looking for wildlife along one of my favorite forest roads. Expected to see some groundhogs, squirrels, maybe a porcupine. Nope. In my 48 years of tromping through the woods of central PA, I've only come across one of these bad boys 2 other times that I can remember. This is one of PA's few venomous snakes, the Timber Rattlesnake. And It's as close to one as I ever want to get. I originally thought it had been run over, but they flatten themselves out like that. After it was kind enought to pose for a few pics, it quickly slithered off into the bush. I'm not afraid of snakes, but I know to respect them, especially this one.

Friday and time to vote. Light turnout this week. Maybe it was the holiday and all that.

Plus, we had a tricky theme this week:
"wildlife". show us a pic of your bike with some wildlife in the shot. Any living animal will do but it has to be wild, not your next door neighbours cat sat on your bike, lol.

OK...Eight entries I believe. If I missed one, let me know.

All the photos meet the theme, but for me, one stands out photographically.
Nice sky, nice framing, space in front of the vehicle pointing into the photo, etc., etc.
So Agemax gets my vote this week.

Bob, thanks for including my pic but it better not get any votes. haha.

Rich and the sun-bathing snake get my vote this week.

It was close enough...And it was one of my top photos this week.

For me, this is a photo contest, not a "who did the theme best" contest.
I always vote for what I think is the best photograph.
(And I like it when someone "bends" the theme a little.)

Voting for bob baatfam. I like the symmetry (maybe not right word).... the geese compared to the bike fairing. All elements in pic support the main element without too much distraction.

richs snake pic is a great find. Is some what starting when when scrolling and see bike on side of road, look some more and not see any wildlife, scroll and see road, then scroll some more and see snake.
