Yes, we always seem to get pictures of people and pictures of bikes but not many of people with their bikes.......

I believe Bruce has done the same thing at past rallies.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi,

These aren't exactly rally pictures. But I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of the Indy GS crew in 2008 during the Inaugural MotoGP at IMS.

This is Griffin and I in his garage. Brett was kind enough to loan one of his bikes to me. I brought it back filthy and missing a side cover. I hope he's forgiven me by now.

This was the gathering at bwringer's house where we ate, talked bikes, and got our tickets for the event.

Joe Nardy and others (Tim, Brett) helping to put up some shelter.

The guard cat on bwringer's back porch.

dpep and Bridgette. Don was the organizer that year and was handing out tickets.

At the MotoGP we got to park on the backstretch.

I'll be back in the area again this October. I hope to see some, if not all, of you again. You're good people.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Wow. I really don't look happy in that picture. I wasn't mad at all. I just don't smile for photos.

Don't worry, Cliff. I had a spare cover, and soon changed all the bodywork on that bike out to black anyway. I still have the red bodywork, stashed in the loft above the garage.

Here's a pic from Brown County '07 (?) taken on the Danville town square . Everybody headed northwest stopped by to eat Sunday lunch at the Mayberry Cafe.

I see Joe Nardy and Steve Burgman, can't tell who the fellows with their back to the camera are though.

Here's a pic from the inaugural Moto GP of my then ten year old daughter, Katie, at her first motorcycle race:

She and I have been to all three Moto GPs, and are going this year as well.

Wow great pictures. After looking at all you guys I'm gonna stick out like a sore thumb at BC.... You will all see what I mean when I get there.

Notice that it is with no licence plate.

THis would be BC2008, enroute back north On SUnday.

ANother view of same scene

View from upstairs dinning room of Mayberrry Inn. ANd this is before the unlicensed bike joined the group.
THis is Brett Griffin's hometown and he joined us and brought his 750E to show us all his bike he got for free, just to annoy us all. Oh, the Mayberry Inn was great, I will want to stop there again.

I'm pretty sure this is from '07. Remember how I was limping around? I had dumped my 700 doing a u-turn on a washed-out backroad (tearing cartilege in my knee, I later found out) while riding with what would eventually be my GS1000G. I picked up the 750E in '07 as well.

Anyway, I wasn't too worried about riding with no plates in Danville. I work on motorcycles for the police chief and a police sergeant here in town.

They hold my "get out of jail free" cards.....

Fantastic thread! I need to get to one of these. Looks like great times!

I guess that technically it was called a "rally". :-k
(Thanks again for the shirts, Kurt.)

Hey Brett,

I was just pulling your leg. That picture was actually the first night we arrived and I was picking up your bike.

This is a much better picture, across the street from the Mayberry Cafe where our families had dinner together after I dropped the bike off.

DSCF3364.jpg

You thought about smiling for this picture. I can tell. ;) You had cleaned up the bike and put the spare side cover on.

My father-in-law took this random shot somewhere in a cornfield.

DSCF3028.jpg

It's great that you and Katie have been going to all the MotoGPs. Gillian still loves to ride with me.

Joe, you've got some great pictures and great memories. I'm going to remember that "cruel joke". :p

All the best to you and yours,

Cliff
