If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

When you figure this out I want to know. I am running a MAC 4 into 1, single air pods, Dyna Ignition, Electrex RR, and I never did get her running right. I have not had a chance to try Keiths suggestion on a post I did about a month ago. I have to have engine rebuilt. It is a mess. I would still like to know what you end up going with.

Keith

What is the stock notch needle setting? I went to change them this weekend and noticed they where up one from the center. Should i put it back on center and try it or should i go down one more? Before i got rid of the air box i was running a bit on the rich side and i wonder if this is why. Thanks

I'd like to jump in on this discussion with a question:

If I'm reading you guys correctly, one cannot simply attach these individual pods to the carbs...and be done with it....right? Some carb adjustment has to be made?

I was thinking of going the pod route...but not sure of how to adjust the carbs like you all suggest.

I tell you what. I put the pods on and as of yet I have not been able to synch them as the heads blew 3 spark plugs right out of the cyclinders.

This is where I was at before all hell broke loose-

Needles at 3rd notch - Screw on the bottom of carbs thats a pain in the arse to get to was 1 1/2 turns out, Air screw facing outboard easiest to get to 2 turns out. It ran rich as hell. Did not sputter and hammering throttle was decent response. It was HARD TO START. Very Hard !!

I never did change the jet sizes but I know I needed to. There is a magic setting for all this and when I find it I will release it to the world !!!

Planning on buying a Dyno for the shop and my bike will be the first one on it. Anyone wanna help with this feel free to express interest. It will be a whole weekend of it. Dyno run, Change Jets, another run, screw in or out here and there another dyno run. Uhtil we find the maximum HP available while keeping reliability.

Looking into leasing a dyno. Cheaper than buying.

Partmonster, when you get your dyno could I come by and get my bike tested?? I'm in Silver Spring.

What year/model do you have?
What mod's?
What's the history of your carbs?
If your manual or dealer can't tell you where the needle clip positions are stock, then you just test and take plug reads to determine what to do with the needles.

You certainly may come by and run your bike through.

Keith why don't I just hire you ?

Louie

sorry,

I have a 79 GS750E. I will have a new Jardine 4 into 1 and pod filters installed (last year i only had the pods and was running pretty lean). So far, cause i am cheap, i have been drilling out the main jets only to try and get the correct settings. I had thought aobut moving the needle but then time ran out and the season was over. Anyway i dont really know the history of my carbs other than they look as if they had ben putzed with before i got to them. Maybe it was just a cleaning or maybe someone played with them. I am the third or forth owner of the bike as far as i know.
