pop fork seals w/ air pressure

Had to replace a seal, and after unsuccessfuly trying to pick it out, remembered a tip from a Kawasaki KLR 650 forum. Of course this only works if your fork caps have air valves.

Remove oil and retaining clip, then pressurize the fork with about 30 psi air pressure. Out pops the seal, easy as pie.

I guess you could also remove the valve stem from the air valve, spray in some hair spray and hold a match close. Just keep a close eye on the fork tube though, you might have to run to the neighbours to get it. ......just couldn't resist, sorry. Actually the air sounds like a good idea, have to try it next time. Thanks for the tip.

try using ether in a tire at the track, sure wakes them up. been there done that.
