A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Apologies if I'm doubling up on some questions but now that a fire has been lit under myself and this thing I'm wanting to get as much info as quickly as possible (I also enjoy sugar laden soda pop for the similar effect...) Anyways, I'm wondering if it's possible to modify a gsx250 cylinder head to take the same sized valves as it's larger 400 cube relative?? From what I can see the stems etc are the same size but I'm not entirely sure if theres enough room between the seat for it to work.

I want to try and upgrade a 2 valve per jug 450 to use a 4 valve head, but all I have to hand is a gsx250 unit. Added to this I'm kinda hoping I can also take the 450 out to a 500 and who knows mebbe even use the longer stroke crank used in some of these low/mid capacity GS's...

Hmmm, but aren't the 500s 2 valve per cylinder setups as well?? I was hoping to get the use of a 4 valve head, or is there not much benefit to doing this?? I have read that thanks to the relative youth of 500s the parts are readily available and cheap. Would I also be able to use 500 pipes?? I actually originally bought this engine and frame thinking it was gsx400 stuff but it seems not...

And I just realised I put this in the 4 cylinder section (I'm guessing I thought it was the 4 valve section...)
