A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What exhaust are you running? do you have a pic of the other side...those look like new Gixer forks also..

Go back a page or two, there is one showing the RHS of the bike, it is a sidewinder drag pipe, V&H I believe.

Not really new GSXR forks, because they don't have the radial mount calipers.

To answer and ask a few ????

To answer and ask a few ????

The pics were taken from my I phone, I really should get better pics.
When the project is done I will take better ones.

The burgundy drag bike will get the 1260 motor I have lying around.
It will be a track bike till I make a street wire harness and put a d.o.t. rear tire on it. Both bikes are going to be re-painted, bead blasted and polished.

Who makes quality exhaust systems for these bikes any more??
The V&H street pipes are not very good.
I miss the old stainless supertrap pipes.

is it just me, our would this bike look good with one of the newer style pointed tail sections?
i have a bike similar to this, a stock GS 1000 and am thinking about changing it.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THE BIKE, VERY SLIGHT COMPLAINT. I DO NOT LIKE A MODERN MUFFLER ON A OLD SCHOOL BIKE. IT IS MY PROBLEM NOT YOURS.

nab
Thank's for the compliment on the bike! Here's two more to try and win you over on the pipe. Bought both the bike and the pipe in 1984 if that helps.

The GS11 has great lines from this rear angle looking forward.

I'm your Dads age. It's really not that old. LOL you will understand later.

I have three boys all 7 and under. Now i'll be old when they are your age. Stay upright and enjoy it!

awsome man! what part of NY do you live in? I am planning on building a gs1000 track bike too. Where do you plan on racing/riding it?

racing and kayking ??

racing and kayking ??

I live in up state NY just out side of Binghamton a small town called Endicott ( it is where IBM started ) we have a 1/8 mile drag track called sky view drags I raced there last summer for my first time on my dads 1980 gs1100e I did 7.5 at 94mph on this bike. I want to race at Pocono Raceway when they have open track days I think it will be sweet to race on my 1979 Wes Cooley bike.
as far a the kayaks go it is the next best thing to motorcycling I have ever done in my life, its like getting close to god and the chicks dig it too!!!!!!

Thats cool, I was thinking about doing some track days at pocono and loudon when I build my GS1000 track bike. Im going to build a bike from scratch. Then eventually do some traveling to tracks down south. Daytona?
