A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

how do you do that to the fins and have it come out strait.
A file. Paint the motor, then file them down. I think the NEWER GS motors came stock from the factory that way. But the older ones you can take a file to the fin edges on the head and get them to look pretty good.

if you look real close the fins on the head are cut. theres a pattern cut into them.

Kinda interesting that Suzuki came out with the champaigne / red body work for those that couldn't decide between one or the other.

Ok.. since you asked.. Ive posted this a few times, but what the hell!

This is my 1977 GS750B Cafe Racer build project. Its not done yet, but slowly and surely working its way there. Of course, I keep thinking of MORE things I want to do, so it may well never be done, but here she is for now...

I built the fibreglass seat by hand, and the tank I will be using on it isnt on it in this pic, but I hand beat knee indents into it as well. The whole bike was stripped down to the frame, and Ive added some performance mods, such as progressive dual coil shocks, a GS11000E aluminum boxed swingarm, Tarozzi fork brace, Vance and Hines pipe, hand jetted the carbs (still fine tuning that..sheesh) Stainless brake lines, EBC pads, rebuilt the top end of the motor and she's lowered an inch in the front, bout .5 inch in the rear. Eventually, probably THIS winter, the electrics will all be hidden under the seat box, I may be adding velocity stacks, clipon bars, drilled rotors, rearsets, once i can fab a kicker arm that wont hit the rear brake pedal on the rearsets, and possibly 850 jugs and pistons.

how many layers of glass did you use for your seat? I have 5 layers on the flat part of my seat and 4 on the hump but it doesnt seem thick enough.

looks sharp BTW!

Do you have a pad on that seat yet? I see you signed up to ride this to SWOKZ. That might be a little rough on bare glass. Can't wait to see it.

isleoman, color me green with envy. I did very similar mods to my 80 1100 but it looks no where near as clean as yours. Bravo sir

80 GS1100,
I got those risers from a company that was selling on ebay for a short while. Apparently there are folks that stunt GSXRs and they made these to convert the clip ons to conventional bars.

I had to drill four holes in the top triple to make it work. I don't think that company is still around but if you Google "GSXR" and "STUNT" and "Risers" you may find something similar.

I had risers for a bit, but switched to clipons. No matter where you get the risers you're going to have to drill the triple as no GSXRs came with them. Suzuki SV650 and 1000s came with risers for 7/8s bars - I'm sure you can grab some off of ebay.

79 gs750e... put a vance & hines exhaust with k&n pod filters. getting the carbs worked in was a pain. painted the wheels seat and tank with spray can. modded up a mini tail light and switched to a single speedo from what was said to be a 78 750 but it only goes up to 80mph so i'm thinking it was a smaller bike. now im trying to hide the rest of the wires better and im searching for a spoked rear wheel to match the front one i already have, so if you have one let me know.

here's mine :) It's not nearly so pretty & shiny & mechanically correct as most every other bike on here, but I love it ! I've had it for just over 2 months & have cleaned it up a bit, learned to ride, & put over 5000 kms on it :)) I'm hoping it will last 'til the onset of winter before absolutely demanding serious-take-things-apart work, so I can keep riding. Any & all input is most welcome.
I love just about everything about the bike, with only 1 little reservation.
I love the cowling, the windshield, the thottle lock, the larger hand grips & the bags, while very ugly, are very useful.

......... oh frigggg :( .... can't figure out how to post a pic --- will go seeking info -- maybe picture in next post ?

Just filed...

The fins are just filed. I think the zoom feature makes it look like a pattern....

Well on the risk of being totally embarrassed by isleoman, here is my baby minus the black front fender that's on there now.
