A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Probably for the same reason that you have two crankcase breathers. Because he wants to. :).
fair enough answer, i was asking why because i wanted to know his inspiration to put one there, not questioning the looks of it.

oh, and for your info, there is only one crankcase breather, the other is a top end breather, very important with a non standard engine to prevent any pressure build up in any part of the engine. but then i thought you may know that! :-k

I just kinda started holding them up in different spots and liked it. There were a few of us hanging out in the shop that night and we all thought it was pretty cool. It could have been all the beer tho.:-k:) Really appreciate all the input fella's, My buddies and I will work on our bikes for 5 minutes then pick them apart for the next two hours. I really like the critizism, constructive or not. Peace.

alcohol is a wonderfull means of judgement, until you wake up the next morning lol. if you like it mate, then go with it, until the next time you and your mates meet up for a few beers, then post up some more pics haha

The exchange about your breather choices seemed to get a little heated. I just thought I'd poke a little fun your way. I'm sure you wouldn't take yourself so seriously as to be offended.
:)

All in good fun.

Here's my freshly completed GS. (1000 motor inside) I got it on ebay cheap with a locked up motor, from sitting outside with one plug out . Still needs a few rusty bits replaced, and to re-jet the 750 carbs.

This thing belongs on the cover of a magazine!!:D

for sure

for sure

I agree ,I have looked at that spot on mne as well its looks a little unfinished but takes nothing away from your bike believe me. I am kinda of a decal freak ...thinkin some form of a Yosh or an Ohlins decal might look cool.

hey, isleoman, i dont think ANYONE minds you posting pics again :)
it is always so refreshing to see that bike!

Thanks J,

Let me ask your (and anyone elses) opinion on something. What do you think about adding a decorative piece on the vertical flat area above the swingarm pivot bolt.

I was thinking about something that kinda looks like the yosh decal plate on the cannister. Maybe a thin piece of copper with a gloss black coating with either vertical or horizontal lines of reducing widths that exposes the copper underneath.

It would be held in place by the swingarm bolt and the two other bolts above. Approximately the width and height of the black frame surface it would be covering. Kinda looks bare there now. Might be over the top if it was too flashy

I would say leave it be. It would only draw attention to itself rather than blending in. I didn't even notice the spot you were talking about until I read your description twice. Sounds like someone needs a new project! :)

What size are you wheels and tires, they look fairly custom. Also what brand rims are those same with the tires. I want to do something similar to my bike. I really like the look. Dan

Thanks for noticing! Those wheels took a great deal of effort to install. They are SunRims 19x3.5, and 18x3.5. Dunlop Sportmax 160/90/18 And 130/90/19(from V-rod). I used the original rear hub and a Harley Sportster front hub to make it easier to obtain spokes. Supposedly, the rear wheel is off the Vance&Hines drag bike from the late 70's early 80's. Hence the holes in them for beadlock screws.
