A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Russ,
Your bike collection is verrrrrry nice!

hjfisk,
I like the direction you are going with your 1100...is that a gsxr front end?

Not mine.
A bike i saw a couple weeks ago at the vintage races at Mosport. I forgot to get the owners name. It was the first time on the track for the bike in 20 years.
Love the Astralite wheels.

The custom can from both the '78 and the Cooley were made by a local Houston company called Jemco Exhausts. They have been making exhausts for around 30 years.

They did a pretty good job...I love the look of the pipe on the red 1000, in particular. By coincidence, I checked out a Jemco system for a Kawasaki KZ a few weeks ago. I had wheeled my bike out to the street, and came in to put on my gear when a guy stopped his pick-up & got out to check out the bike. When I went out, he asked if I was interested in selling it & I told him it wasn't for sale. Turns out he has 7 classic Kawa KZ/Z bikes, some very nice & the others in various stages of restoration, according to pics he showed me on his i-phone. Anyways, he pulled out a newly acquired Jemco Kawa system from the bed of his pick-up, and also a Wolf, similar to the one on my bike, that he was taking to get ceramic coated. Seemed disappointed, that I had not heard of Jemco.
Dude left me his card (apparently in the steel supply business), and asked me to call him first, if I ever wanted to sell...seems he would like to add my Suzuki to his Kawasaki stable.:-&
It was only after he left, and I rode away, that I realized that neither of us had ever mentioned a price....

Not really custom but shes got a new tank (the one in the background is the old one), now I just gotta change the seat, side covers and tail section lol. Plus alot of cleaning but thats given.

Here's my '79 GS750L. YES, it is an L model, say what you want about it but I think I did a good job de-L'ing it for a substantial riding improvement-superbike bars, one off seat and rearset fabrication, rejetted to 125 main's, APE filters, MAC 4-1 exhaust. Still under 9k miles

^That's me after a 180 mile ride from school in Schenectady, NY back home at Medfield, MA. The new 530 sprockets are geared more for acceleration and resulted in much more vibration at highway speeds. Not to mention the MDI shocks are like struts and the seat I fabricated I haven't finished... it only has neoprene foam which is okay for riding around town but feels like concrete after an hour on the road. I couldn't feel my A$$ for days!
Edit: some before pictures for comparison...

AWESOME looking bike, Midnight!

Only thing that I would change...put the L'bars back on! :D

Nice work!

haha just think of the aerodynamic drag on a 1/4 mile, probably lucky to get a 30 second ET

i had a 1/4 mile shoot out with a ninja 750 and yes i barley beet him he was faster off the line but i caught him and passed him by a tire not bad for having so much aerodynamic drag:D

Cool trike. Any chance of some more shots on that under tail exhaust? Not seen that before on a GS.

Chris, that trike is interesting! Can you make a build thread about it? I'd love to hear how you set it up. -Emmet

Exploited789: You may not have a lot of heavy mods, but that's a pretty well done theme. Nice work.
Midnightcafe: THAT is an amazing transformation! There oughta be some reward for turning that bike into THAT bike! Nicely done, sir ... very nicely done!
