All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thanks so very much,

You have no idea, that first picture doesn't tell the whole horror story, RR shorted so bad, it melted the battery post clean off, numerous....well, you get the idea, I love the bike, and enjoyed the build, but was mad at the PO every step of the way. Not because of the work needed, but the sheer retardation of some of the things I found along the way.

That's madness! I still don't get how people can get things so wrong... but definitely about 1000% improvement there :D

I'd like to make it 1000% plus 1%, I would really like to have a seat similar to the Tempter, just a tad too cramped, but not real bad. Yeah, I almost wish I had documented the partial restoration, a lot went into it, and still, a little more now and then. Instead of a seat like the Tempter or similar, what about a seat style like from a big V-twin, not just solo, but both pieces?
I know it will take some modification, but, I'm more worried about the cost of something along those lines more than anything. I'm not a twisty's kind of guy anymore anyway, more of a cruise and enjoy the scenery these days.

Hmmm... I'd just track down another pan, get some foam, and get it how you want... it's actually not that hard to do. I did mine like that with two layers of foam, a harder one on the bottom and softer one on top and it's worked out well. The seat cover is the tricky bit if like me you can't sew, although having seen it done now I'd give that a go next time too...

they'll get worn in too!
Oh and i used a lawn tractor gas cap for a gas gauge.

Cheers for that, I couldn't figure it out. The pipe is off a yamaha 125, cut down to fit, it's just temporary to get it on the road, it sounds lovely and throaty with a homemade baffle (steel tube from the kids old trampoline, holes drilled all over, two cuts halfway through tube, bend one facing front and one facing back, wrap in fibreglass) I might make a prettier version as I couldn't get hold of anything stock or aftermarket rear of the downpipes for a price I could afford.

Just wanted to throw a picture up of the bike. Been a long frustrating road but hopefully its coming to an end (just so I can ride the damn thing!).

90 GSXR750 rear swingarm and rim
98 GSXR750 Rear shock
Early GSXR rearsets (dont remember the year off hand)

I've just got my first proper bike and would enjoy playing with her cosmetics.
Does anyone know of any parts that will fit this model? I'm after:
Straighter bars, smaller rear light and mudguards, flat seat, headlamp, small chrome clocks etc.
I would just like to de-clutter and style her up a tad.
Thanks
All suggestions welcome
