A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Prayers needed for a local rider in ICU

A client of mine was involved in a bad hit and run yesterday on highway 21 near Idaho City, ID.

He was riding with his neice on a 84 Honda Goldwing and came around a corner to find someone blocking the entire road with a RV that was turning across the roadway from a side road. My client wasn't travelling very fast as it's a very windy mountain road, but there was no time or room to maneuver so he did the only thing he could and swerved off the road. The bike lost traction and flipped. His niece was thrown clear and was not injured, but my client was thrown into the path of the motorcycle where it land on him. The driver of the RV drove off and didn't bother stopping, even though it is impossible to not see something like that happen from where he was at. I drive that road all the time so I can say that with certainty.

The area this occurred in has zero cell coverage for miles, so although there were a few witnesses to the accident, it still took a few minutes for someone to get to Idaho City and get the sherriff and some medical help. By that time the driver of the RV was long gone. My client suffered five broken ribs and a ruptured spleen and had to be Life Flighted out to Boise where he is currently in the ICU.

Thankful he and she are still alive. Best wishes. (except for maybe the RV driver)

Not religious myself but I'm thinking good thoughts for the rider and his family.

Its reprehensible that anyone involved in an accident would drive away without rendering assistance. I think it would be too easy on them if they lost their licence for life and spent 5 years in the pen. Actually, I'd like to put a bullet in them.

Keep us informed of how he makes out.

Thanks for the info.

Stay safe,
Spyug.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery to rider and niece. It's too bad this has to be part of the game. :(

He apparently barely survived the first day, but now looks like he'll be okay. I'm going to check up on him on monday.

Five broken ribs. That's a tough one.
The worst things are going to be the fear of impending sneezes and the fact that every friend he meets will feel it their duty to crack a joke.
The sneezes are worse.
Hope he is doing as well as can be expected.

The pos RV driver should have his rig burn to the ground with him inside. May seem a little harsh but There is NO excuse for those involved to just drive away

best wishes

best wishes

best wishes and hope the driver gets his also

First and foremost my prayers are with your client.

Second, I hate to say it but the RV although the cause for him riding off the road was technically not in the accident or at fault for trying to leave the side road. The old saying goes if you can't see ahead in the distance it takes to stop then your riding/driving too fast, I know we bend that rule a bit especially when we think we "know" what's coming up but this is a reminder of why the rule is in place. If it was a fallen tree in the road blocking it all up then who are we gonna blame?
