    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

ok i know my bike has the capability and power to do it but i dont know how its gonna do it?
comming home from work i stoped at a parking lot to hone my riding skills a little more:D for those of you who know what i mean! and on the long streach i was trying to pop a wheelie but no matter how hard i tried the bike just would not leave the ground any help on why
the bike would not do this simple act??
also couldnt drift it or peal out?????
i tryed everything i could think of
NEW BREAKS NEEDED i guess!!:-s
but the main thing is the lack of power i dont know what is going on or what to do!!

about 4000 for the wheelie and the burnout and drifts 3500 ish:confused:
do i just need more or what?
ive taken it to 5 before but still nothing

im an 850 owner...with a less powerfull then yours (1000 right?)

this is how i do mine when i feel lucky...which isnt very often

in 1st gear rap that sucker up to 7-8 k clutch er up an pull up kinda hard...even doing that on mine is hard to pull it up...in mid of 2nd gear if i stand up on my rear pegs an rap it to 9k i can pull a small wheelie..a few inches off the ground...

be cafefull is all i say...ive gone to far a 2 times on my an came crashing down hard enough to whack my header on the ground...

burnouts just hold the front brake an dump the clutch at 4k or so...no joke...im a bigger guy so i can hold my bike up ...

heres an old video of my old junky bald tire...yes this is the bike in my sig pic...ive just changed some things since then lol

does anyone have any advice on how to stunt for beginners??:?:

If you want wheelies and burnouts- you got the wrong bike. Get a modern crotch rocket.

Do the following only at your own risk... I don't know why you would want to on an old bike but whatever... to each his own.

Burnout... Find a puddle and roll the back tire through it. stand off the seat, hold front brake, rev, dump clutch.
Wheelie... get rolling in first walking speed, pull clutch in and rev hard, dump clutch which pulling up on the handlebars.

If your next thread is "Body work questions" we will know you succeeded.

First, learn how to ride properly so you know what your bike will do if it starts to get away from you.

Secondly, why do you want to show off?:-k The risks here greatly outweigh any benefits. It does no good and could very well result in the next thread title of something like:

Help, I need parts for my busted bike:(

When you dump that bike and cripple yourself being an idiot, please remember to post in the Parts for Sale forum. I'd love to pick up a '78 GS1000 project.

I could use the handlebar. Perhaps we could get him to change them over to L bars BEFORE he wrecks?
(It might even help. ;) ) :twistedevil:

but yes dont bother with wheelies on these bikes...thats coming from experince...

Jumps are fine though. ;)
Unfortunately, the front fender will crack after about 2-300 jumps though. :(

Speaking of which, anyone happen to have a good '79 750 front fender?
This one has only lasted about 33 years. Junk! LOL!

Reaper could buy a 600 Ninja for tricks and stunts and save his GS for when he wants to cruise on a confortable bike, before it's "too late"....
