A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hmmmm, I tend to try to stay away from the sci-fi looking stuff. I was hoping that when I said, "Gee, I sure wish I could get an 8" light from an 1100e" that someone would come along and say "Hey, I've got one of those you can have. It's gold plated, too." But no such luck.

Finished my seat...

Finished my seat...

Added on to the seat pan w/ fiberglass and aluminum, added some softer foam on top of re-used portions of the original stiff rubber foam, and covered it with some red faux leather that I had left over from another project.

Sweet bike. I want to do something to my 750 but im poor at the moment :-\ i think a new seat, wheels and tires would spice it up a bit. Whats goin on with the front brake? Edit: Just noticed the pictures above, guess you put the brake on. Your bike is awesome!

Got some more parts put back on this weekend:
-Different bars
-Front fender from the original bike
-Original guage cluster (chopped down a bit and painted black)
-Made a mount for the license plate (which now doubles as a small fender)

I'm so-so on the different handlebars and the front fender. I'm still not sure about the signals that I chose either. Anyone want to comment on these?

P.S. Thanks for all the atta-boys guys. I hope the bike doesn't effect the general public like it does Zooks  .

I think you guys are right about the gauges. The originals are too friggin huge. Guess I better get out the credit card.

Very unique look. Definitely stands out in a crowd. Looks like you've put a lot of work into it. Well done!

PS: I have to agree on the recent assesments on the gauge clusters effect on the flow of the bike. I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

That chopper sites gauges were too expensive. I got mine from Mike's xs.

Look half way down the page. Same gauges but for $59.00. They work great on my 80 450L. The only thing I have to modify is the turn signal lamp. You have to put in a 12v zener diode into each line otherwise the blinker light won't work right. I should be doing that this weekend.

Watch the gear ratio on the tach on those MikesXS gauges. Suzy is 1.5, MikesXS is 1.4 (or was it the other way around). But maybe they can get the 1.5 models if you ask...

What a head turner!! love the proportions, especially taillight-fender cowl area. please get lower handle bars though.

Paint's done

Paint's done

I have been waiting around on parts from bikebandit, so I painted it. The red is a match of Ducati's red on the GT1000. At least it looks fast now. I know, the seat color doesn't match.

Yeah buddy, that paintjob looks KILLER. What's the plan for the seat?

Oh, I guess the plan for the seat is to live with it for now...I really don't want to recover it again. If I did, I'd probably go with black pleather, or maybe white, though that would probably be a pain to maintain. It's a fine seat as it is, but that darn color is just a bit off. Hopefully I'll get used to it.

Try vinyl dye. Comes in a spray can, application is similar to spray paint. You might find a color that's a little closer than what you have now.
