I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hey all,

Upon removing the valve cover from my project 81 GS750L I was disappointed to discover that the exhaust cam is pitted and worn and has to be replaced.

In searching the forums here it seems that I need to replace the cam and the rockers. Anyone know where I can find a matched set, or what other options I have?

I can get a cam from eBay easily enough but what about the rockers? Can I have the current ones machined at a shop and run them with a used cam? Or just drop in the used cam and hope for the best?

Thanks!

JT

You have to replace the cam & all 4 exhaust rockers. The split pads on the 750 exhaust cams are notorious for this problem. You need to use 1100 solid pad rockers. Also, the pads on the stock Suzuki rockers are hard chromed so you can't grind them. Call me at 714--356-7845 if you have more questions. I have good cams & rockers. Ray.

Wonder what oil the PO (or how often he changed the oil) was using in that bike. My 80 750 has 55,000 on it and the cam and rockers are just fine.

BTW the 16V Exhaust cam on the GS750E/L is the same part number as the GS1100E 80-82; just need to swap out the cam gears.
