    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Please do a build thread,I'd love to tag along with that!

Oh I will. And I'm sure I'll have plenty of annoying questions as well. Real work to the bike is going to be a little while off, I need to remove and either rebuild or replace the six speed automatic transmission from my wife's stupid Mini first. That was deal was made so I can still have a happy wife after I bought another motorcycle ;)

So spring has sprung, here at any rate and the KDX project has taken up most of my energy.Got to fix Yeller's paint, messed up not mixing enough hardener into the clear:oStrip down and repaint in orderno small task with this much bodywork.Tick tock tick tock.

The tank is the worst looking bit.

The sanding I got done today before I got tried of doing it.Even with 80 grit on a sander it takes a lot of time.

While sanding this happened:mad:Lost the bits to.I happen to have an old side cover that's just the right curve:dancing:

Doing a Google images GS750 search I came across this:

Even in this bad pic that looks pretty tasty.Close to the 86 stock scheme but I'm pretty sure those ain't Suzi colours.

Got a pic Mike?Kind of looked for one but didn't see any.
Anyway on with the fairing fix:

Started with this.

Opened it up to get a better place to put the patch.

And the patch, not really tight so the ABS slurry can do it's magic.

The patch slurried in,now wait a couple of days to be sure it's dried out. Then I can sand it to fit better.

Not the best pics to scope the scheme, but there are a couple in my album here.

Thanks Mike, didn't think to look there:o Not going to follow the exact scheme in that pic anyway.Using it as a jumping off point.Looking at your 1150 tells me I'm on the right track.

I've always really liked it. The blue for the 1150 is really nice too, but I think this looks relatively fresh, even today.

Got the pieces all primered, sanded and primer sealed:dancing:The primer sealer ran out on the last peice. Hoping the weekend will be a good one for painting:pray:

Well she ain't Yeller anymore. Danm I liked that name:( But I really think this will look SO nice when it's cleared.Yeah I ran out of red, knew I should have got another can:mad:

I really like that scheme Greg! I agree it should look awesome with some clear on it...

Thanks Pete,I'm really liking how it's going to.

Especially after I got a few more coats of red on it as a bit splotchy before. Now it looks REAL nice:dancing:
