When rebuilding carbs, I see everyone recommends just reusing the old float and top gaskets if they look OK. My question is why?
My old man always said if you pull something apart you should always put new gaskets in it.
I just ordered $37 worth of float and top gaskets for my bike from Z1 and I'm just trying to make myself feel better about the purchase I think...
So, I've got my o-rings and intake boot rings from Mr. Barr, just ordered the aforementioned gaskets and picking up the rest of the supplies at Wally World later for this weekend's carb rebuild project. Wish me luck, guys! And thanks to everyone who's answered my questions on here. It's been a real nice thing to have this resource as I stumble through this
