DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I just got a replacement R/R. It's from an '04 ZX10 FH010BA. It did not come with the wiring harness and now I need to connect it to the GS850 wires. I noticed it has spade connectors somewhat larger than normal. Is there a place where I can get an OEM like connector? Any other solutions that would ensure the connections are not too exposed to the elements?

Thanks,

Raz

Any good connections will work, the bullets that Suzuki used are among the worst.

Crimp connectors, bigger modern spade connectors, a good quality block type connector with three wires, even twist, solder and shrink are all better options than the bullets.

I meant the connection right at the R/R. It has two housings, one with 3 large spade connectors and one with 2 of them. Can I just use the appropriate female spades? Does this connection need to be water tight?

The Eastern Beaver ones have 1/4" female inside the plugs... if a 1/4" spade doesn't fit neither will these.

There is one of this type of RR that looks the same as the others but has bigger than 1/4" spades. It's either the FH010 or the FHO14 I can't remember which.

Here we go....

* Note that if you have an FH014 from an 08+ CBR1000, these connector plugs will NOT fit that device.

One other option is to attach the appropriate width female spade terminals on your harness, plug them into the spade terminals on the R/R and then fill the cavity with electrical grade (low acid) RTV. That's what I did when installing an FET R/R on my bike and it's working well.

Excellent suggestion. I think I'll go this route.

one more thing... How do I connect this thing? I searched on this site and only found a schematic for a 6 wire r/r. I think the plug with the 3 spades connects to the W/R, W/B and Y wire (order does not matter?) but what about the red wire and ground? They obviously get connected to the other two spades but which is which?
