    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have some arriving tomorrow, for 82 Kat 1100, which has the anti dive units on forks.
According to RT site, forks with the anti dive feature have the damper tubes drilled differently than forks without the anti dive feature.

So my question is, as I'm blanking off the anti dive, would I drill dampers as per a NON anti dive fork,( type 1 in link) or per the anti dive fork ( type 5-1 in link)?

The 5-1 link is correct. Make sure that the holes you drill above the step are such that the upper hole centers are no more than an inch above the step.

I have these units on my 83 1100E. Very pleased. Using Sonic springs as well. Racetech written info recommended 20 wt. fork oil. Too harsh. Use 15 weight (advised by Racetech tech on phone...and Rich at Sonic Springs) In my machine, with forks collapsed and no springs, I set the fork oil level 7 inches below top of fork. Ten thousand plus miles....all is well.

Caution...just a reminder and thinking you already know this...... but.........be very carful when securing damper rod to drill holes. Easy to get them out of round if using a vice. If that happens, rods will be useless. Fork will bind.

Until a few weeks ago I had the anti dive units in place with no modification. One of them started to weep fork oil from the plunger seal.... I have owned the machine since it was new, I have replaced the units 3 times due to seepage. This time......I removed the units and installed a beautiful set of block-off plates purchased from Demon Speed Racing. Office / manufacturing out of Niagara on the Lake....Ontario. Brake lever now firm and travel reduced as well.

Have you noticed an improvement with the emulators and new springs?
 
I am completely satisfied with the emulators and springs. I installed the emulators as they were delivered. Initially had Progressive fork springs. Replaced with the Sonic springs as much out of curiosity as anything else. My all up riding weight is between 220 and 235 pounds depending on gear. 1.0 Kg springs running 5/8 to 1 inch preload. Forks are supple and react well on the way too common stutter bumps found on too many California roads and highways. Difference is night and day compared to factory damping.

I am thinking you will be impressed.
 
Huge improvement, although mine came in 41 mm GSX-R1100 forks, so the enhancement was multiplied.
