I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

hi people,
i would like some information(if any one has some)about fitting ram air filters and dyno jets for my beloved 1981 GSX-400fx the one that looks like a baby kat in line 4 twin cam 16vim not sure if it is an import or not the bike is standard apart from the aftermarket neta exhast system,i start to tail off at top end and am wondering if the engine at full revs is needin a little more air in the mixture, could it be possible due to the air fuel ratio at top end that the engine is theoreticaly chokin its self or am i pondering total bilge. If someone could help me out i would be very gratfull,i am pretty new to the site and have posted a few threads unfortunutly i have had no feed back i know my bike might not be the usual gs someone has, but in a way my little bike,I think is unique round these part of the sticks i would love to be proved wrong cause these little bikes rock man totally bullet proof i have blown up many a bike in the past and not through bad maintenence i might add but my little pocket rocket just loves to be abused she cant get enough of it or may be she eventually may be on her way to the bike yard in the sky hopefully not as i have checked valves for any sign of wear and tear amazingley they were fine i couldnt beleave my little peepers, checked and adjusted cam clearence finally convincing my self that every thing was just so and correct which brings me back round to my originall question about mixture and is ram air and larger jets a good option or not. look forward hopefully to reading some repleys cheers(A pondering chili)

"ram air" filters? I assume you mean pods. Hmm, the only way is to experiment. I have just fitted pods and GSX-R carbies to my old '81 Katana and the power increase has just left me utterly gobsmacked.

My advice is forget about the ram air monkey motion; not enough hp potential to make the jetting headache worth the effort. If anything you should check the mixture right now since the aftermarket exhaust may be causing a lean condition already, which is leading to the bikes top end flatness.

Good luck.

I would think that if you get the jetting right, you don't need to worry about 'ram air' filters or even a DJ (though others will recommend it). Have you done a plug chop for WOT? Sounds to me like you're leaning out up top.

Anyway, the true reason I posted a response is that I WANT TO SEE PICTURES OF YOUR BIKE!!! That thing sounds like a cool ride.:-D

thanx for the info dudes i think im just gonna skuttle away to play for a while now.
