A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Random Photo thread

Is something of an issue here. Gates were installed on pier this year. And based on some weather conditions (I don’t know specifically what. Maybe marine forecast for the lake.) they close the pier for a day or day and half or two at a time. Are signs about $500 fine.

on first occassion of pier being closed this summer I made comment on FB about me being annoyed because it didn’t look too bad to me. Oh, man, got lots of comments about that was to keep idiots like me off the pier.

Folks, are there any rules to the random photo thread? I'm thinking I'd like to possibly join in on the fun but I want to make sure I'm within the written or non-written rules.

Rusty, it’s pretty much anything-goes. Keep it safe-for-work, and you’re good. Let’s see what ya got.

Don’t feel like you have to break the law for shock-value photos like our resident scofflaw, Mr. Redman. :p Love ya, Dave.

I think thats right. Mr. Marvin, the creator of this thread, suggested "Feel free to post your best accidental or even intentional pictures here''.
That leaves it wide open and makes it entertaining.

Thanks fellers. I'll give it a shot soon.

There's a photography pun somewhere in that last sentence :-k

This is my family's first fall/winter in our house. I've I've been watching from the window the leaves fall from the big maple trees in our back yard. This morning several strong gusts of wind blew tons of them off. It was a rather meditative experience for a good 5 mins.

Thanks for posting. Yes, we have a wide range of photos posted here. Some pics are sharing experiences and/or just interesting photos.

I had somewhat similar experience this afternoon, from dining room window, watching leaves fall in back yard . And I will be communing with nature, again, for hours, on multiple occasions, when get to raking them.

Part of my Sunday afternoon/evening ride.
LWk1iqX.jpg

Stopped at the pier, and walked out there at twilight.
Didnt have camera, used cell phone (referb iPhone8). Did well with catching the color in the low light, but at that low light is fairly low resolution.
I was trying to catch the red light reflection (light is on for about 1 second every 8 seconds), but also catch a wave splashing, but the wave splashing over the pier would interfere with the light reflection. Did not stay long, wanted to get back to the ride.

As you can tell from my photos Redman, I have some raking work ahead of me as well!

RT, You said something about recently moving into there, and the amount of leaves falling. Made me wonder if this is a new experience for you.
Speaking of leaf raking at place of residence: Leaf raking maybe a significant factor in how much longer we live at this residence. (See my recent pic in "Went For Ride".)

We purchased the house earlier this year, moved in beginning of June, so yeah it's a new property for us. It's the first time I've lived anywhere with maples on the property so the leaf clean up factor is a new one for me. It's not really that bad, pretty concentrated area.

Just saw the pic Redman. Yeah that's a lot a leaves!
