    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Re Jetting a GS650e carbs

SOOOOOOO! My son and I are rebuilding the GS650 and having a friend build us a custom exhaust, putting K&N pods on it and I just got our Dynojet 3 jetting kit. Christ, this thing came with DRILL BITS but NO INSTRUCTIONS!!! OK so I'm not helpless and I figured hey, they just forgot to put them in the kit. I emailed them and I get the following reply back:

Dear Bob.

We regret to inform you that we no longer have instructions for this Jet kit. If you need help you can call us at 866-GOOD LUCK!!!!

Dynojet Customer Service.

SOOOOOO. Might anyone out there have instructions for anything SIMILAR??? I mean how different can the 81 GS650e be from the rest of the similar bikes? I don't know but I'm HOPING one of you all has something that we can use as a guide before we drill out the wrong thing!

But you are right, the GS650 is conspicuously absent. :-k

I suppose you could use the GS700 PDF as a guideline, knowing that you have different sized jets. It should pretty much be 'plug-n-play' with a little adjustments in the needles.

I would jet it rich and then test it once everything is together. Safer to run a bit rich than to be lean even for a short time.
FWIW I run a DJ 124 which is equivalent to a 116 Suzuki on my 650 with a 4-1 and stock airbox. I would go with a 117.5 to start unless you have a really open pipe, in that case a 120 would be an appropriate starting point. I didn't raise the needles but once I get back on the road this spring I will test a single washer shim under them and see what the plugs look like,

You really need to do plug chops to verify what is going on. I have a color tune which is great for setting the mixture screws and looking for obvious lean outs but nothing beats high gear, high speed shutoffs to test what the mixture is on the mains under load.

Try to find instuctions for a like bike. A 81-82 850 maybe?
Should be close to the same except the main jets might be smaller.
At very least it'll tell ya which drill bit is for the slides(I think its the smaller one if my memory serves), and how to drill the slides. Also give you some idea whats what..
If it were me I'd use the largest main it comes with and put the clip in the middle setting.

I got an instruction from the 700 that have to be close enough to get me where I need to be. Getting the exhaust mocked up next week so hopefully we can get it running in a few weeks. SWEET!!!!!
