If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yeah this thread veered horribly off topic lol.... Sucks to hear about the bad expirence though. Things like that happen but usually it comes out good for the customer, well atleast in my store it does. If that carb hadn't had been in the computers we would've just scanned another carb (more than likely cheaper) and had you on your way. But we're pretty laid back. Some AutoZone's down here are like the one you dealt with. Uptight and b@stards

On a note about Advanced. The one's down here are ASS-BACKWARDS. The people don't know sh!t and they're over-priced. BUT!!!!! There are some hot chicks working there. Which makes it fun to go in and shop around

Yea the guy started telling me about one time he sold a part that wasn't listed in there computers for a jeep and the guy came back bitching. This wasn't the only reason that I quit going there. It didn't matter what time of day I went in there was always a line even if there was only one other customer in the store.

I guess it all matters where you are. I've actually found that pepboys is useally the easyist to deal with but there also the furthest away.

It happens. People can be so ****y sometimes. And thats after we go out of our way to help them out but oh well.... And you know I actually know an Autozone EXACTLY like that down here. And I hate going to that AutoZone. But ironicly enough. They're the same one's that are arrogant b@stards. I guess it goes hand in hand

Dude!.....you work at the Zone?!.....man, I should own stock in them!....I've been going to the one in the city I work in since they opened, and that's been several years......hell, I know all the managers, most of the employees' ( high turnaround) and.....have even toyed with the thought of getting a part time job there.....( since I'm usually there 3 to 4 times a week!!).....but, it's not that I need the job, just thought that since I'm always there, I might as well get the employee discount.....but, then again, the manager I know always hooks me up.....so.....The Zone rocks!!

I had a S-10 that I bought several years ago, that I re-built with all Zone stuff.....lowered it, painted it...ect...it was a nice truck when I got done.....matter of fact, was just there today, and bought a new cover for the GS, plus a valve cover breather( one of those little chrome blue cone ones) ....the cover only cost me 6.99 thanks to the rewards program.....

Seems that this thread is only a 3-way conversation now between you, me, and Cafe......ah well....you guys are cool regardless....sh*t.....I still need to send you the link for the bags....I'll try to get that to you either tonight or tomorrow....
Dude! Let me tell you, gettin parts from a parts store and working there are 2 opposite things! Being a customer is the OPPOSITE of being the employee. Take it from one who has spent (wasted?) 23 years in the car parts biz, if you have more that a 9th grade education, you're already overqualified for anything other than dealership work. There's a reason why there's a saying that goes "you don't have to know how to spell your own name to look up parts."
I'm fully aware of how many people I just offended. Then again, if you work all day at one of these places and watch the parade of humanity? walking thru the door, you'll understand. The difference is the same difference as being a turista in the Big easy and being a native. OPPOSITE!!!!!

Well, I do agree on that.....about the 9'th grade thing.... I was going to get a part time job at my local Zone.....filled out an app....got the interview and was told that I was OVER qualified.... WHAT? I never heard that one before!!.....I work for a city(aka municipal worker, gov't employee...whatever)...but, didn't think that I would be considered over qualified!.....even for a management position....go figure. For me it was just for something to do, and to get the employee discount. And... you really don't realize how STUPID the majority of the public is, until you have to deal with them!!.....just ask me....I'll tell you!!....wait, I just did....never mind....:) and it's on ALL levels, not just retail....it gets 10x worse at the municipal level!!

Ironriot....don't get p*ssed.....this has nothing to do with you!!....I know by the conversations WE'VE had that your WAY over qualified for the Zone too....and it's just a "job" not a career....:-D

wow, just noticed that I made it to " senior member " must go on the amount of posts ehh?

4-way flashers

4-way flashers

OK,
I'm going to try to get this back on topic.....has/does anyone have 4-way flashers?
If not, has anyone made their own hazard flasher system, if so, how hard/easy was it? I don't think that it would be that difficult, a flasher, change the rear bulbs to 1157s' tap the front wires for the turn filaments, and a switch. Any ideas/schematics.....I already know how to do this, and plan to wire a system up to my bike(s) but, thought that maybe someone had some good/better ideas or tips.

I know that this kinda belongs in the " tech " area, but it can also be considered an appearance mod, because of the fact, that if your in a parade or something, it's a visible modification especially if your bike didn't come with hazards. I don't know why ALL bikes don't come with hazards, I would think it to be considered a " safety " item.....I don't know of a car made today that don't have them........anyone else?

Thanks, those are off my Intruder, I won a new 7 piece set on E-Bay for I think it was 41 or 42 bucks, so the new ones are going on the Truder...I got to have a place to keep my stuff, jacket, skull cap, gloves, coffee mug, spare underwear for those " really close" calls!
Working with another member for a complete fairing, bags, trunk setup.....hope I get them....[-o<

I was talking to my uncle the other day and he thought he had some left over from when he used to ride that I could have.

Left over what? sort of lost me here...:-s

Never mind.....I hopped back on my train of thought.....it only slightly de-railed

Yea I have a bad habit of running all my thought together until there completely unintelligible rather then my normal barely intelligible.

Oh yeah don't worry about it. I completely agree with you guys. And even a 9th grade education will over-qualify to work there. And TRUST ME i have NO intention to make it a carrer. Actually I'm studying mechanical engineering myself but I need an easy job that doesn't take up much time while I'm in school so I'll stick with AutoZone for a while. Plus the discount is NICE.

And yeah 'truder you're right. You don't realize how dumb the general public is until you have to deal with them. I have stories from working there that will leave you laughing in tears and/or slapping your forehead in frustration

Nother topic. Damn you 'Truder *shakes fist at Intruder* I want bags on my GS now :-D Those bags look really good on yours. What brand are those? BTW did you clear/buff the tank and fenders? They look awesome. I mean they have a real nice sheen to them. Looking real good man

P.S. Dude, love the tatts. Gotta love it when people get tattooes that you'd never in a lifetime expect .
For instance:
MoreBikePics.jpg

That's not a real tattoo on myself but my friend actually got that identical tattoo on the back of his arm. The tattoo artist did it for free because of how ridiculously hilarious it was and how hard it made him laugh. I'm supposed to get satan on the back of my arm...... And no he's not a jesus freak lol. It was done because.... well because it was hilarious when we were thinking about it at the tattoo parlor

Dude, that's f*king hilarious! it about like that one dude(name escapes me at the time, that got that tat in the back of the Hummer while Henry Rolins was driving......the dude with the BIG self portrait on his back......damn, I hate getting old.....C.R.S syndrome setting in......back to the bags.... I have no clue what make they are, they were on the Truder when I got her, decided to try them on the GS to see how they would look. They're not a great fit, but then again, leather soft bags never are. And yes, I did clear/buff the tank, the sides turned out nice and shiny without having to buff them, plus, I got a big buffer, and knowing my luck, I would burn them, so I'm going to borrow a buddies small orbiter, I got a few more coats of clear to go to get more of the depth out, but everyone who's seen it in person has said it looks real good, and can't believe it's a rattle can job.

back to the tats, I got more than the 3, I have 3 others on the other arm, and some ( young and dumb) small home done tats, but, I don't count them.....kinda like counting a jail-house tat as a real one, a childhood friend has both arms done in those type, and they look horrible to say the least...
I'll post the others when my camera batteries charge up.

anyone else got some ink to show?
