Dude, that's f*king hilarious! it about like that one dude(name escapes me at the time, that got that tat in the back of the Hummer while Henry Rolins was driving......the dude with the BIG self portrait on his back......damn, I hate getting old.....C.R.S syndrome setting in......back to the bags.... I have no clue what make they are, they were on the Truder when I got her, decided to try them on the GS to see how they would look. They're not a great fit, but then again, leather soft bags never are. And yes, I did clear/buff the tank, the sides turned out nice and shiny without having to buff them, plus, I got a big buffer, and knowing my luck, I would burn them, so I'm going to borrow a buddies small orbiter, I got a few more coats of clear to go to get more of the depth out, but everyone who's seen it in person has said it looks real good, and can't believe it's a rattle can job.

back to the tats, I got more than the 3, I have 3 others on the other arm, and some ( young and dumb) small home done tats, but, I don't count them.....kinda like counting a jail-house tat as a real one, a childhood friend has both arms done in those type, and they look horrible to say the least...
I'll post the others when my camera batteries charge up.

Hell its hard to believe its a rattle can job even when I look at it now. Screw traditional paint jobs. I'm now a beliver in the rattle can faith [-o< .... And hey don't blow off ALL jail house tatts. My step brother did a 6 year stint and when he came out all of his back and most of his chest and arms were covered in tatts done there in the prison. They're all super professional and pretty good quality. I'd post pics of my tatts but I don't have any I haven't decided what I want to get a tattoo of yet. I want something completely random. Any ideas? If I like it I'll get it inked on lol

I agree with the cyborg thing.....this guy would prolly been in less pain to just have his skin removed!

I wasn't trying to down jail tats, just 99% of what you see is in the same mono-color green, and bled together. I like color...and as much as I can get to stay....I have to go in about every other year to have the ones on my other arm re colored due to fading, and they don't have that much color. I got some cool pics, if your into skulls, as I am, I just need to find them. One is of a skull, with a Maltese cross in diamond plate in the back ground, and a dragon wrapped around the skull...looks bad-ass. I got the Stooges mostly because I used to watch them religiously when I was a kid, and still love them to this day, it's sorta my dedication to them.
This first one is harder to see cuz of the hair on my forearm reflecting the light

Who's " Laurie "? my Psycho worst/best half....this was her anniversary gift to me by me for having do deal with her for 20 years, plus, I told her the name CAN be changed, removed, covered!

Ok, back to topic...sorta, I may not be on much in the coming month, due to the fact that I just sold my house, and will be house hunting, and moving out of here, closing date is scheduled for the 20'th of Dec, BUT, was told that it will most likely happen within 2 to 3 weeks, and I have got to get another house, and packed up fast, I just got pre-approved for a loan, so....it's time to get in "GEAR" as they say.
So, if you don't see me on much that'll be why.:-D

Man that sucks Ive resigned to the fact that my season is probably done myself...Shes running but not the way i want her to. I guess i should just be happy that shes running at all, but at 30 yrs old anything not correct on her makes me worry too much too enjoy riding. So unless i get these carbs cleaned back on and tuned with the quickness, and figure out my break situation, as well as figure out whatever the hell is ratling around in my stator cover area, it's gonna be spring for me, unless we have a mild winter. We shall see tho..

Hey man congratulations on the sale of the house! And good luck with the house hunting. One thing in your favor is the house market has cooled down a bit so prices have gone back down. Unless you live in an area like mine were economics really play no role in day to day life. Just remember, big garage for the scoots!

Cafe I finally rode my bike legally for the first time satureday and prometly found out It isn't charging the battery.

Its been said that the charging system on these bikes sucks. I think it was either the r/r or the stator or something like that wasn't properly grounded because of a design error. The simple rememdy is to ground it to the battery ground. Then your good to go! Unless your charging system is fried which is the case alot of times with these old bikes. If thats the case then new parts are in order!

This is going to be a general reply to all you great peeps....first, thanks for the congrats....appreciate it....I was not thinking that this place was going to sell that fast due to the housing market woes over the past 6 to 8 months....figured on being here much longer, secondly, a garage is a must for me, I went from renting a 3 bedroom house with a 2 1/2 car garage, to buying a 2 bedroom house with a 1 1/2 car garage, now mind you, the house was built in the late 30's to early 40's and big garages were not the norm, unless you were rich, so it's really only about a 1 car, the garage at my rent house was only about 6 years old....this one is well... do the math....the floor has more cracks than a plumbers convention, and the roof leaks like a sieve every time it rains.....I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this place....but I was pretty much talked into by a parent hounding me that " you can't just keep throwing your money away to rent, you need your own house"
I was HAPPY where I was!! If I didn't like it, I could move with only 30 days notice, and not have to go through the crap I have to now, nor sign a stack of papers about 1400 thick for 2 hours, not reading ANY of them, and come away with a severe case of writers cramp, and only knowing that I'm committed to pay this "new" rent for 30 years!!!!

Ok, back to the " appearance mods" so this thread don't get yanked, as it is my only substantial reason, aside from e-mail to turn the computer on to take a break.....

My new bags came in that I bought off e-bay great set for the price.....only problem is that the left bags zipper was stitched on backwards AND upside down, but I contacted the seller, and they are going to send me a replacement the old bags off the Truder are on the 850 now, plus one extra from the new set....so, the GS is pretty much completely bagged. It looks " beefier" but still sporty.

Still waiting..... Iron, for word on that sissy bar!.....got a bag for that now....

O.K. Guys, I gotta go for now to search some house listings, and pack some more.

Hey my friends.....

Ok, here's the latest, the house has been appraised(by buyer) so could be closing in as quick as 2 to 3 weeks....going tomorrow to look at some houses...got one that has me.....it's a 4 bedroom bi-level....2 bath, large back yard, heated 2 1/2 car garage( plenty of room for the bikes, plus the vehicles), has a wet bar, 3 seasons room, screened in porch, den.....plus more....in my price range......getting psyched!! But, there are many more to look at...oh, I forgot to mention the hot tub!
Any way, in an attempt to keep this thread alive....here's a thought, since it has to do with appearance mods, lets post some before and after pics of your bike, from when you got it, to where it is now, and list what mods you did.....lets at first just keep it to 2 pics per post, the before, and after. Then, if this thing takes off, we can post some more pics. That way people can cruise through them quickly......any takers on this? Or has this already been done?
If so, then someone can throw in another idea.....

Hey man more good news from thats great! The house sounds like a winner. How many square feet we talking? And that 2 1/2 car garage is soundin pretty sexy. I'm up for the pictures game but I still need the after shots all I got are the before and during. But its getting there.
