A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Rear lamp chrome trim

Forum Apprentice
Hi there,

I'm looking for a missing trim around the rear fender / body / glove box...
The Suzuki part no is 45522-45100

It's not available anymore from Suzuki (as far as I know) and the few ones I could find on ebay are way out of my price range (over 400US$ !!!).

Anybody knows where I can find a replacement?

Any idea on how to make a mock-up from aluminium trims?
I'm looking for a stock look, of course...

Thanks!

Frank

You can find stuff like that at auto detail sections. "Door trim" it might be called. Comes in "Gold"or "silver", with a groove or as a semi-round flat type. Here's my 400's tank tarted up with the grooved stuff. The 'silver" stuff seems like a perfect match to what Suzuki used- it's peel-off stick-on so it wants a really good surface and MIGHT tend to peel off at the ends so a bit of good glue and a clamp will fix it if it does. the un-grooved especially.

Yep, that "door trim" might be your only <affordable> option. :-k

The original piece seems to be made of unobtainium, which raises the price.
If you found one for $400, that tends to be on the bottom end of what they are going for.

.

Many of the best all-stock original condition bikes will be missing that rear cowl trim.

How come?
The trim wasn't attached properly from the assembly line?

And why the hell are people asking over 400$??
Are there people out there willing to pay this price?
I mean, it's not like these bikes are selling for top dollars!
I'm hoping my bike will go up in price at some point in the future, pulled up by the CB750's...

But asking this price for a trim is madness...

Anyway, great advice guys for the door trim stuff, I didn't knew this stuff still exist... Sound very 1980'ish to me!
So I'll look in to this...

Thanks!
