DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

does anyone make rear sets for the gs1100 i hav an '82.I've been workin on the bike throughout the winter and its running like a demon! this past weekend i took the bike out to work on a launch rpm and i noticed that with the cut seat i hav on the bike i need to move my feet down and back a little any info will be very appriciated.

Raask makes rearsets for your bike, although I hear they're not the best quality.

If you're OK with a bit of light fabrication, get some steel plate and cut a triangular piece out of it. Drill/tap holes in it so that you can bolt it onto your stock footpeg mounting holes, then drill/tap holes wherever you like to bolt on your rearsets. This will move your feet up and back. GSXR 1000 rearsets work well because the spline pattern on the shifter shaft is the same between the Gixxer 1000 and the GS1000/1100. You may need to (I'm using Gixxer 1000 rear brake and rearsets, so this part is speculation) modify the GSXR brake rearset and/or the GS rear master cylinder to get them to work together, but the mounting methodology will be the same as the shifter rearset. Hope this helps.

yeah maybe i'll try raask im not much on fabricating! but you say the gsxr1000 sets might work???any particular year i can probably dig up a rear M.C if i hav to...thanks for the help

I know for a fact that the 03-04 Gixxer thou shifter rearset will work - I'm gonna be using that on my GS1000, the GSXR 1000 shifter fits like a glove on the GS shift shaft. Again, you have to make a mounting plate for your GS for this to work. Look for an 03-04 shifter rearset that looks like the one below if you go down this path, the 05+ won't work. YMMV getting the GSXR brake rearset to work with the GS master cylinder. I'm using a 2006 GSXR 1000 rear brake and swingarm so getting the 2006 brake rearset to work isn't an issue.
