A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

...almost an 1 3/4"...your tires, surface and clearance may vary....someone once said...to measure is to know....

Hmmm, sport lite shocks made of aluminum...so, are shocks sprung or unsprung weight...there's a pun in there somewhere, I just know it.

Dogma....part 14 going bad possibly?...oil weight thicker?

...any problems you have on yours means I could too.

Maybe. Cheap enough to replace during a rebuild, just in case. I've never seen one damaged.

If you want to tip the bike forward to quicken the steering (tire profile and pressures got me where I want to be (Avon RoadRiders)), you can raise the rear, or you can lower the front by raising the fork tubes in the clamps, or both.

Those look pretty good, but compression adjustment is conspicuously missing from the list. They wouldn't forget to list the primary damping adjustment would they?

That's what I heard!....but I'd also like to hear from guys who went only +10mm...even +20mm to see if any noted steering changes occurred....30mm comes in at about 1.170" rise above stock.{1mm equaling .039", rounded}
How's she in straights...notably touchy to inputs?!

I had 14" Ikons on my 850G. Still dead stable with no twitchy-ness, but yes, much improved handling. Lighter steering and quicker side to side transitions. I did have to weld a little heel onto my side stand so it wouldn't be leaned over as far. My center stand still worked just fine, with about 1/4" of daylight under the back wheel. When it was time to change tires, simply put a block of wood under the center stand. Easy problem to solve.

I was wondering about that myself.

You are getting into the high $ range if you desire both compression and rebound adjustment.

I for one will pay a lot for a decent ride, as a bike that's too painful to ride is a complete waste of money. Unfortunately some very expensive shocks in the past have been as harsh as the cheap crap. Looking for something that works. Nice smooth ride.
