If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello, I have owned a 1985 GS700E since 1996, its a great bike but i need to replace the rear suspension. Can anyone tell me were i could get a new or second hand shock for my bike, its a single shock by the by. Also i have rung a few breakers in the UK without any luck but i dont even know what exactly to ask for, does anyone know the spec of the shock for my bike? I live in Ireland and i was wondering is it possible to get a shock sent over from America? Any numbers, addresses? Any help appreciated, its been quite a while since i've had a good scratch!! 8O

Before spending that kind of cash for a stock replacement, I would look for a used shock at any salvage yard. I have had very good luck obtainig parts this way for my 83 GS750ED. As you might know parts(except for some engine) for a 700E are interchangable with the 83 GS750ED/ESD and the 85 GS700EF/ESF. Also some GS1150 parts work (I have an 85 GS1150E rear shock on my 83 750 as this unit is slightly taller and gives a little more ground clearance). Overseas the 83-86 GSX bikes are also similar. If you check around you can get a replacement at a fraction of original cost. Ride On.

Check ebay. I aquired a fox shock for my 83 750 es for $40!

Do a search, there have been a few mono-shock options posted in the last few months. One was have it rebuilt, another was a replacement from I think it was a late 80's non-adjustable. There was one other, but, hey, you have hands, do a search.

Thanks for the help and information, hopefully I will be able to get a replacement somewhere.

'86 and '87 GSX-R shocks used the same type eyes on the shock as the GS700. I'm not sure about the length of them though. You would have to go with a stiffer spring if you can't dial up enough preload since the Gixxers were super light. If you can find a GSX-R shock with ride heighth adjustment the length won't be a problem.
