A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am looking for a double seat that looks a little better than the stock one, I'd like one that is flat all the way. One that has a cafe look is fine with me. My wife is almost 6 foot tall and I'm 6'1" so I really dont want her sitting higher than me. Something with a little modifaction is fine. i will in no way mod the frame but i dont mind changeing the rear fender wich i'm sure ill have to do to get what I want

Of course it would be nice to know for what bike it would be for?

oh crap sorry I was in a hurry when i posted this
82 GS450L

The stock 450T seats are quite a bit flatter than the L seats, I think they mount in a fairly similar fashion also. They still have a bit of a 'bump' to them though, just not as dramatic.

Or one may consider reshaping the foam of your current seat?

thanks for the suggestion, i have thought about reshaping my foam as a last resort. My seat is in wonderful shape and if I can get another somebody might could use mine on a resto project

Thanks again!

Two 6' adults on a 450? Am I the only one that raised an eyebrow? :)

Two 6' adults on a 450? Am I the only one that raised an eyebrow? :)

I rode two up on a bike as small as a Honda 65 Supersport. So, when I got my very powerful superbike, a '72 Honda CB450, I was amazed just how much power I had, even for two-up riding. Now after having had
a '76 Yamaha 650, a '78 & '79 GS1000E, and a '82 GS1100E, when I go to think of riding two-up on a 450 size bike, I think it might be a little underpowered and a little uncomfortable.
And here it is, one of the highly touted superbikes of it's day, my little '72 CB450 with my girlfriend at the time, Daytona Beach no less, December 1973.

Well I did some very limited riding on a CB360 with my girlfriend when I was in college, but she was 5' tall and very light, and I was a few cheeseburgers lighter as well.... :) It wasn't very fast.

Could you post a picture of the seat? Would it work on a 81 GS550L?

I am looking for a new seat (Mine is really, really torn up after sitting in the elements for 8-10 years) and I would be willing to purchase it from you if you do buy a different seat.

Phaaaa, bunch of girls, here in darkest Africa two up ain't even a half load

best picture in the world

i always try to get my friends to watch the Top Gear episode that was the Vietnam motorcycle special. the villagers riding five+ up. best best best.

I ride with my girlfriend all the time on my bike. I'm 6'1 and she's 5'10, we don't have any problems. You may want to look into fitting the rear end of a 450E on your bike...

Don't forget the side saddle wife with suckling infant. Also pigs, goats and chickens. :)
I've seen these Chinese Honda like bikes double shocked on the rear as factory fitment.
