A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Any thoughts on exhaust systems 81 GS850G? New ... Used ... What fits etc...
I'm looking for 4 into 1 with a black finish and mellow tone .... Let the Harley guys go deaf.:-D

Hi,

Looks like a few manufactrurs made pipes for this vintage Suzuki bikes.
Vance and Hines definitely had a huge presence during that era as they
were the leader in after-market pipes for Suzuki. I like Kerker myself
with the ease of maintenance, cosmetics, performance, lightness, and
access to the drain plug and retention of the center stand. I've had
both of these pipes.

I like Kerker very much. I'm not sure if they are still in business ??

KT :-D\\:D/

Kerker is very much alive!

I haven't been able to find a Kerker for my bike. I wish I could as I'd rather have one than a V&H. Not buying either one for a while as I just paid $120 fort a new R/R unit.

Wooster huh. My mother was a school teacher there. Off RT 30 right? Wayne County?

Thought they were acquired by Supertrap and mothballed?
I was just looking at my Dennis Kirk catalouge and day dreaming. I also saw the Kerker pipes. I just did a Google and saw that they were bought by SuperTrapp. Bummer. I love my Kerker pipe.

I know. Once on twice a year there would be a whole family wiped out by some kid in a sports car going one-hundred miles an hour. :?

Yep, too bad. Kerkers made the best pipes on Earth. I loved their engineering and quality fit. Those pipes were a true plug and play
meaning no rejetting, and access to the oil drain plug and retaining
your center stand. Very well designed with replacable mufflers for
the do-it-yourself fiberglass repacking.

I do not like Vanes and Hines, and consider them junk. The mufflers
are riveted, and cannnot rebuild/repack them. No oil access and
goodbye to your center stand.

4-1 aftermarket exhausts used to cost no more than $200 for a
complete Kerker system 25 years ago. Now they are outrageous
at $500-$600.

Today, some exhaust companies sell you just the muffler piece
for $600. This is outragous !!
