A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

you dont have to I guess, but you will probobly get improvement because they came lean from the factory to meet emissions, so adding pods will just make it leaner. I might go up a few sizes from what I have read here, maybe go up on the needle or get a thin washer and shim it up half a knotch, but really dont have alot of experiance with this. maybe this will help :-D.
Good Luck,
Nick

so more air the leaner it goes...ok. any one know where to get jets for a gs 250 ? lol....

Your jets are the same as my original ones in my 850. I would say hit the dealer and get a set (pair) about say in the 135 range and take her for a ride. I would make sure the pods don't step down in size on the inside so as to become smaller than the actual carb venturi. Some of the more inexpensive types of pods do have a universal opening that fits many carbs but then steps down in size dramatically just inside of the opening. I tried them they didn't work well at all and then went and bought K & N's and they worked well. If you don't need the pods I'd say leave the stock box alone but if you like the look then just be ready to tune a bit. You may also want to open the idle mixture up a few turns since it will lean out a bit at idle. Hope this helps and good luck. :)

I personally don't recommend pods on your 250.
If jetted correctly, the small power gain you would notice up top is just not worth the efforts, even if you ride it hard a lot.
You would notice some loss of torque at lower speeds and a 250 just can't afford it in my opinion. Keep the stock airbox.

in the stock air box is there a filter i can change ? and where might i get that ?

Uni makes foam filters for most stock applications. I have one in my 550 that works great
