Greetings, all;
A few weeks ago I got some advice from forum members re. replacing the snapped throttle cable on my bike. What a bear of a job! Seat & gas tank off, rear brake reservoir, air box off, pulled the rubber boots between the plenum and the carbs, and pull the carbs themselves! Whew!
Now the problem lies in re-installing the rubber connections between the plenum and the backs of the carbs. It got me to thinking whether I can use small individual air filters
(see, for example: https://www.partsnmoreonline.com/PNMSite/XS1100 15-0037 CHROME CAP AIR FILTER.htm )
Am I stuck with the OEM air intake system (which is going to be a major pain in the *** to get back together - I honestly don't know if I can do it) or can I go to individual cone-type filters on the back of each carb in place of the plenum?
Thanks in advance
