I just finished replacing the RR, and the stator (someone tried rewinding themselves, and it looked horrible) But anyway I took it out for a ride saturday since it was like 75 and finally nice here in ohio. and it seemed like after it warmed up it lost all power almost like it was out of gas (which is where i was headed, to the gas station) so i turned it on res. and it still kinda ran funny after. so i filled up and went in and paid for gas, and got a drink. when i came out it started right up, and rode fine for a few miles then it started doing the same thing again. i got it home and was looking at everything and noticed that the two exhaust pipes if i am looking at the bike it would be to the left, were not hot at all. my guess is the coils are bad. i did notice last week on some of the colder mornings while riding to work some hesitation when i would gas it. but it ran fine, no backfireing, just hesitation.
i just put new plugs in it before i replaced the RR and stator, which now have about 40 - 50 miles on them or so.
Bike has about 22,000 miles on it, it is a 1981 GS750 L
sound like coils?
any advice for up grading? or should i stay stock?
