DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi peeps, has anyone replaced the carbs on a 1980 1100 ex with a set from a newer bike ? If so can you tell me mods required, jet sizes, etc. It would be nice to keep the original airbox if possible, this problem of poor tick over and rough slow running is spoiling the bike. Any help would be very welcome. Many thanks.

The only carbs I am aware of are GSXR1100 carbs. Any GSXR carbs you find will need just as much work as the originals. They are larger and most likely will not work with standard a airbox. If the standard carbs are rebuilt PROPERLY and all other tuning aspects are addressed they work well.

Have you cleaned the carbs and installed new O rings?

Hi peeps, the carbs have been dismantled, cleaned manually by me 4 or 5 times, ultrasonically at least twice, new mixture screws and o rings, floats set at 22.5, everything else checked and seems correct, but obviously somethings not quite right. Al new ignition, new induction rubbers, vale clearances checked, compression ok, carbs synced every time they were remounted. Any ideas most welcome. Anyone else had the same problem? Many thanks.

GSX 1100 EX carbs

Hi here, does anyone know what the problem is with these carbs ? I don't want to completely dismantle them, remove buterflys etc, if it's not necessary. If it is necessary to split them for repair, where can I get new screw for the buterflys, o rings, etc. Thanks for the responses so far, any help / advice most welcome.

Check my signature for a rebuild tutorial. You shouldn't have to pull the butterfly valves. Just be sure to shoot water into the gap between the carb body and the throttle shaft to get the carb dip out.
