A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I am looking at a replacement seat for my 1978 gs750 that I believe is a C because it has wire spoke wheels, and a single disk front brake. The title says 1978 Suzuki gs 750RS. I have never found any kind of documentation on a 1978 gs 750RS. Anyway, I have been looking at a seat from Hondaclassic31:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-1979-S...ies&vxp=mtr&hash=item2ec204ebb6#ht_1219wt_932
I am wondering if this seat will fit my bike. Were there different seats for different models of gs750's? If they are different, could I make this seat work on my bike?

Thanks!

Nope, just this ugly thing

I think I'll have to take a chance and order it. Hopefully I can modify the mount if I have to. I don't see any other option.

that seat won't work on your bike, the pan is shaped different. I just replaced my seat (77 gs750) I found a good used one off a 550. You might try Saddleman they make a LTD model that will fit your bike.
Is the tag still on the front of the frame? It should tell you the year and model of your bike.

That LTD model is almost as ugly as the one I have. I am going to compare the tabs on my seat to the ones on the Hondaclassic31 seats, pic one and make it work. My bike is torn down to the frame, I can weld, so I should be able to reposition the mounting hardware on my frame to make the seat fit (I hope).

That seat looks like it might fit, but it only uses one of the two hinges. That suggests that it may be shorter than the stock pan, and leave the frame hanging out of the back.

It's a nice looking seat though.

Thanks!

I wouldn't mind shortening up the frame. its just a couple of pinched tubes. I may put a loop back there to tie it together. anyway,it sounds to me like I should be able to get it to fit.

hondaclassics sells just the foam and cover of that seat you like, maybe you can just put it on your existing seat pan.

If it would fit. I could ask them for info on the pan...

It looks like the stock pan, but the mount for the second hinge is not there. That's why I suspect it has been cut down some from the original pan.
