    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Weapon oil, cool stuff and for surface protection i like it because it does not attract as much dirt and stays on better than WD-40.
Way cheaper, too...

for some time, i could not find a single brake pedal.
Last week, i found a guy that sold 4 of them, NOS, dirt cheap :D
Nice upgrade for 4 of my GS1000S bikes.
The 5th gets the best of the leftover ones.

wiring loom repair kit ... very nice to have.
I have not found a NOS wiring loom so this is the next best thing imho..

again a bag of small stuff.

Air filter, oil filter, spark plugs, front brake switch cable.
Spring for the brake pedal and cushions for both stands.
Unfortunately the springs for the stands are black..

Lockhart cooler, just 25 bucks and does not look too bad.
A shame the thermostat is hard to find.
I will not mount this without thermostat, it's cosmetic and i'd probably end up with an engine that takes 5 times as long
to warm up... causing accelerated wear to the engine.

No lines or connector block yet ...

I do have a sprocket that produces a bit more oil pressure :)

Have been looking for months and all of a sudden i find stuff in amazing amounts !

With all the packages delivered i am now on a first name basis with the postman, is that a bad thing ? :D

With all the parts accumulating it's time i bring the chassis and some parts to the powder coater. Unfortunately he's out for 2 weeks ...
 
I looked for almost a year to find a nice era-correct Lockhart oil cooler and then another 6 months to find the correct adaptor. I paid twice as much for the adaptor then for the cooler. They just look so right on these bikes. Hopefully you'll have better luck..although, it looks like your karma for finding parts is really good at this point..:D
 
NOS Crank

NOS Crank

I have secured the GS1000 NOS crank for you, will go pay for it and pick it up Tuesday.
Just need to find a suitable way to ship it without breaking the bank.

It's still in the original Suzuki box.

You must be right, look what i found yesterday...
This cooler is better looking than the one i already have and there's an original Lockhart BP-180 thermostat also :):)

Now all i need is an oil cooler adapter block.
This is going to be a challenge, because i would like to keep the oil temperature functionality,
and none of the adapter blocks i found so far facilitate the temperature sensor ...

Let's see if my lucky streak continues :D

Just to ask, why do you need an oil cooler, just the look or?

Correct, it's for the looks only.
This bike will never reach temps that make oil cooling necessary.
Maybe Wes Cooley needed it with a highly tuned bike on a hot day
but not me.

I think the era-correct Lockhart oil cooler looks fabulous on this bike :)

Ok, I had mine into the Sahara and it was ok.
I think oil coolers look ok till it comes to the piping then it just looks a mess unless it's hard piped tucked in close. But that's just me.

NOT NOS Crank

I went in to pickup the NOS crank this morning.
We went over to one of the numerous garages he has stuff stored in and pulled out the 2 cranks.
We took them to his shop to verify which was which, once I double checked the numbers, the only NOS he had was for a GS1150, not for a GS1000.

What a bummer, one of the boxes contained a GS1000 Crank but has clearly been used and he's not sure of it's history, he always thought it was NOS and not sure why a used one was there, there was some newspaper packing in the box and was dated 1994.
I took the crank with me to get checked to see if it's OK, if it's OK I will find out how much he wants for it.

Not sure if you still want it, let me know.

bummer ... i would have loved to use a NOS crank !
No problem, a buddy of mine has a crank that has only done 16.000 km.
Just called him to take him up on his offer.
So thanks a lot for your help, much appreciated !

due to circumstances i do not have as much time to work on the bike as i would like :-/

I found an original S front fork :D
A bit rough but with some tlc it 'll be ok.

I could not get the allen screws loose, so i had to make a tool to hold the inside. Works like a charm !
