If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Riders made me angry

Need to vent. At about 1pm Saturday I had friends and family in the truck heading for touristy stuff in Nashville. On the highway, right in front of me, a couple of Harleys and a bunch of sport bikes (maybe 30 or 40 of them) got in front of us. They blocked all 4 four lanes and slowed traffic traffic to about 45 mph (in a 70 mph zone). Then proceeded to start a stunt show. Mostly long wheelies and the usual shenanigans.

This made me furious. They held up traffic for a long time and were still at it many miles later when I exited the highway. None of the sport bikes had license plates. The two Harleys did (they seemed to be riding sweep and making sure no one broke through the line), and I wish I'd written them down, but I was busy paying attention to the sport bike guys doing wheelies, side by side, around turns, with girls riding pillion, trying to make sure I had an out in case anything went sideways. All had helmets, but otherwise just street clothes. Thank God none of them went down or any of the million other things that could have gone wrong to injure themselves, their riders, or anyone else. But holy cow...how completely unnecessary.

I had visions of that YouTube video of the situation that occurred in NY (I think that is where it happened...where the guy in the cage ran over the bike then the other bikes chased him down, drug him out of the car, and beat him in front of his wife and kid). But mostly I just keep seeing the possibility of a wheelie gone wrong and the horrible carnage that could happen as the miles of traffic behind me piled into the scene. Thank God that didn't happen.

Man was I mad. Took me a long time to cool off, and now I'm getting all hot about it again just typing this. If I was mad I'm sure all the other cagers were ****ed off too. Seems like all the cagers hate us anyway and are out to get us. This just makes it worse. Of course they'll see me out on the road and think I'm one of them. What a bunch of a$$hats.

Was there no way you could inch up, and then get by them? Or were you trying to set an example of maturity for your youngsters? Would 911 have done anything?

One of the worst effects is that next time you're out riding, one of the cagers they ****ed off may take it out on you. They make us all look bad.

No way whatsoever. They blocked all four lanes with 2 Harley and 2 sport bikes so their buddies could stunt in front of a captive audience. To try to get a cage in there would have been madness.

I hope I set an example for the other cages by hanging back, not crowding them, and trying to keep things from escalating...but who knows what the actual impact of my actions was. To tell you the truth I was so furious I wanted to run my truck into the pack, horn blasting, finger flying...but was somehow able to restrain myself.

Would 911 have done anything?
I debated this. Just not sure. I didn't call. Maybe one or more of the other cages did. I'm sure any police presence would have resulted in a reckless high speed departure of bikes in every direction. Plus, in order to be effective, the police would have to entered the highway ahead of us and waited for the bikes to show up. Seemed impossible to coordinate. No way anybody was getting through the miles of traffic behind me. Well, maybe on the shoulder.

Exactly! Bastards!

Those a holes want and demand it to work both ways. They want respect despite pulling that type of $hit. They dont deserve a shred of it.
Attention whores are all they are. There are plenty of empty industrial parks these days to stunt in....
And yes, unfortunately the responsible ones are cast in their poor shadow as well.

Practicing restraint was probably a good move......

And you thought traffic around Chicago was bad...:glee::glee:

I came up on the same bunch several years ago on I 24 near M'boro. I finally got close enough to see what the wheelee guy was riding before he exited the interstate. An R 1. He had been wheeleeing in traffic at 80 plus mph for miles while his buddies took videos.

I don't get this 45mph crap - if they want to stunt, do it so they're not holding anyone up. Bunch of pussies.

I take it the Hardlies weren't stunting? I'd imagine some carnage then.
