A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I just need to know if the stock rear rim off of an '82 GS750 is the same size as a '77 GS750. I know that the rear for the '77 (what I have) is a 2.15 x 18. I need a new rim and the other guy's is a '82, and he just knows that he has a 130/80/18 on there now. This made me wonder if the rim size is larger, or if he just squeezed a little bit wider tire on.

Thanks guys!

The stock rear tire on an 82 GS 750 is a 120/90/17, at least thats what mine had on it, so I would have to say no they won't interchange if yours has an 18 inch rear.
Doze.

Stock rear rim on my 82 750 Katana is a 2.15 x 18. The stock tire size is 110/90 x 18, but it has a 130/80 x 18 squeezed on there right now. I need to replace it, any recommendations...stock size or oversize?

I bought a parts bike (79 GS750) that had a 17 inch GS rim & 130/90/17 tire. I was told that the rim was from an 83 gs 750. The rim & tire fit in the swingarm & the brake & sprockets lined up perfectly. See if you can try before you buy. If that's not an option, take careful measurements of overall diameter, tire width, sprocket spacing & brake rotor spacing. Compare to your existing setup. If the sprocket & rotor line up, It should work.

Good luck
Terry

I've got a 120 squeezed onto my '78 GS750. I don't know how I could possibly get anything bigger on without removing the chain guard. I'm running spoked GS1000 aluminum rimmed wheels, but I had the same problem with the stock GS750 steel rims. Stock tire size is 4.00, whatever that equals now.
