DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

how long will it take to recieve a pakage from canada montial to texas using expadite mail. ron martin sent it to me on the 14 th of aug. but still have not recieved it. i recieved a traking number from him but the last time it said any thing was today. "recieved by cpc in bolton onterio",
it's been like six or seven days they recieved it on the 14th. but that's all

craig by the way thanks again ron......

It usually takes a couple of weeks, but it can get held up in customs due to the heightened security due to 9/11. The blackout on the north eastern seaboard will probably hang it up a little longer. Hang in there, as long as you have a tracking number you will be ok............they only lose things that they are not responsible for.

Bolton, Ontario!!!! It hasn't made it very far yet. Growing up in Toronto I used to drive out to Bolton to visit a friend every now and then. Only 45 min away.

Keep at 'em with the tracking number and if you get nothing then badger them with a phone call.

You also have to keep in mind that shippers don't always update their location stats either. I have had packages say they are in memphis whe in fact they are at my house!

I just read your query, and cannot answer it, as all of the Postal offices are already closed for the weekend.

Canada Post only works Monday-Friday, although some of their gateway operations work on Saturdays.

Don't forget, We had an electrical failure of immense proportions here last week, and the Government demanded industries cut back on all electrical usage for the week. They even kept some governmental offices closed almost all week.

It is possible that the part was slowed a bit, or even temporarily stopped by that.

Another possible reason that might have slowed it down is Customs. My package from the US was opened at Canada Customs, most likeley looked a bit suspicious with all those little metal parts and wires (points and condensers). Depending on what was in thepackage, US Customs may have wanted to take a closer look to see exactly what was in the package.

Craig, I've got a starter off of an 850 that should work for you. I bought it when I thought mine was dead, then found out all I need to do was loosen the two screws that hold the starter together and mine works fine. The one off of the 850 is a two brush, but will work for the gs1100gk (same size housing). If you're interested pm me or email me at dgeorge1124@hotmail.com I don't have internet access at home and I'm off for the next 4 days so if I don't get back to you right away thats why.

Craig, I do not think you have the wrong starter.

The piece on the end (Sprocket) may not belong to your bike, but the starter came off a GS1100GK, along with several other parts that I bought at separate auctions.

The sprocket was either with the starter when I got it last year, or it was just in the box on the shelf with the starter when I went to get it for you. It fit on the spline, so I sent it.

Many starters use a splined shaft with a drive gear. Suzuki does this too.

You can either find the necessary gear still on your bike, under the stator cover, and sitting oh the starter drive, or it is still on your original starter.

First, check the part numbers on both starters. Look at the units and be sure they are the same. Then go ahead and install the new one.

I checked it. It works.

ron, i went to the bike shop and the starter you gave me is to big it will not fit in the bike at all. the shop mechanic put yours next to mine and showed me that it won't work so i will send it back to you as soon as i can..
