A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Maybe I'm just a crazy person. :p

Here's a test:
You and Josh start making out on the bike and see if she (it?...the bike!)
starts itself up and wheelies dumping you both off. If it does, then push it out in your front yard with a for sale sign (cheap...maybe around $300, just like in the movie) and get rid of it before it does you (Rose) in!!!

just catching up with this - sorry about your mishap.

Thankfully you both are OK, dodging bullets is good...

Ha!

I'm not scared of Essie, or any other bike for that matter...
She just needs to smacked around a little to show her who's in charge. ;)

Wow! Glad the two of you are okay. I'm sure Essie will be rehabbed soon and thankfully maybe not much rehab is needed for the two of you.

Ugg, frackin' gravel... definitely a disadvantage to motorcycles. I find that in NE anyway, the corners aren't usually dirty for long. I most often go on blind faith that I'll only slip for a moment, so far I've been lucky in that respect.

Heal well you two, you have a wedding to get to on that motorcycle!

Josh & Rose, I'm very glad that you are all right. After reading your story I think that you took the only option open to you so don't beat yourself up over it. If I know that there is a very good possibility of going down I'll take the grass everytime. It's one heck of a lot softer than the pavement or gravel. Get well.

Glad to hear you're both okay. Sorry Dawn and I didn't make it down to Bedford Saturday night to meet everyone. It sounds like your weekend wasn't a total loss. I drug the 1100 down there only to have it sit on the side of a hill on the trailer.

Josh and Rose,

First and foremost Thank the Lord you both are ok and able to walk away from this incident.

Secondly, thanks for posting the account of what happened. I'm sure there are lessons to be learned here for us all, newbies and seasoned ridders although please don't see this as second guessing. I wasn't there and no one knows exactly what you were delt with or thinking during your mishap. I am sure all of your years of experience helped you both in surviving and that is what is most important.

And finally thank the Lord that there wasn't a car/truck or bike coming the opposite direction to make things worse. As for the sign posting "loose gravel" that will take many months to happen. Thats just how it goes in the small rural areas. And the Lady that offered help, well, that is just small hometown hospitality they will do anything to help. :)

Again, very glad you both are ok and healing and sorry I couldn't make it down to meet you both.

Sorry I read this so many days later but I also would like to add how glad I am you two are ok.

Rose you're awesome. The one time I dropped my ex-wife off the back of a bike, she wouldn't talk to me for 20 min.

Wish I had been there that weekend as I planned.

Todd

Thanks, Todd.
I'm not awesome, I'm crazy!

Maybe we will see you at RRR?

Belated well wishes

Belated well wishes

Josh, Rose,

May I repeat those immortal words of Bill Clinton?

"I feel your pain."

I just read this thread after being alerted to your mishap in another. I'm so happy both of your are for the most part OK and you are getting on with life in all of its unpredictable merriment and mayhem. I wish you both the best in your upcoming marriage. I wish I could be there for the ceremony. Please take care.

All the best to you and yours,

Cliff
