I live in Minnesota. Fleet farm carries Rotella oils. Its on sale this week. On Synthetic T6 its normally $25.99/gallon, on sale for $18.99 plus a $7 rebate. $11.99/ gallon

I wonder if there are other places that have the mail in rebate. Walmart usually has it around $21-22 rounded up.

I recently made the jump to Castrol Power 1 MC specific oil. The Bonneville seems to like this one the best and the last transmission gernaded with the Rotella.

Now I'm not saying it was the oil that did it in but it seems to just like this oil. I buy it in 6 quart cases and now run it in everything, 2 day shipped to my house through Prime equals out to $28 a gallon. Holds up for 10K mile oil changes where with Rotella after 5-7K mile you can tell the oil is just about done.

Yes the Bonneville is on 10K mile oil change intervals. I'll see how the FZ1 fairs with it. Been pretty impressed with it.

Interesting, I'm looking at getting a 2013 Bonnie. That's why my 1150 is up for sale.

That's a good price. It's currently $42.14 + tax on Amazon.

Hey Rick!
That interval is for the new water-cooled Bonnie's I believe the air cooled bikes are on a more "traditional" interval of 4K miles or there abouts.
Gorgeous looking bike though!!!
Best,

I buy it 2 cases at a time 12 bottles 3 gallons = out to $28 a gallon. Much cheaper than the parts store where a gallon will be close to $50... Pretty sure parts stores are just set to be highway robbery nowadays.

I think this fits the original K bike specs. Pretty sure anyway if it was good enough in 2009 im not buying a rebranded licensed bmw oil for the same gngine now.

Triumph had a conniption when they read I ran rotella when the Transmission broke. Even though it met JASO MA-2 and API standards. I need to run an oil analysis to see if there really is a difference. I do know the oil seems lees frothy in sight glass.

Buying in bulk is why I do it and circumstantially all the bikes run this now. I may make the change back to Rotella and go back to 5K service intervals when the T120's warranty expires, in 2 years.

Ride a lot more, worry less.
I just picked the oil, added it to my subscription through prime and commence the racking of my annual 30K miles, although this year might be tough, wedding and now Lyme's my stamina is not what it was...

Excellent!

I was bed ridden for a week high grade fever, swollen joints, extreme migraine with meningitis the whole nine. Recent blood work came in and I am showing antibodies for the disease however it is inconclusive. We are treating and moving forward as a positive diagnosis of Lyme's. Hoping for no lasting effects but did get the "chronic" talk of how I could deal with this for the rest of my life. At 35 it's a bit grim but I'm taking it with a grain a salt, I'll take the shot of tequila when I get home tonight. ;)

Just load up on the bug spray... I have 4 new cans and now I spray every time I go outside. I love being out side but it is slowly getting more of a risk. I have been killing varmints like squirrels and chipmunks when I see them for they are carriers of the nymphs that make it to the lawn. I tagged a squirrel COVERED in ticks, it was gross.

Anyway going through the FZ1, new ported boots, jet kit and installing my Yoshi I found in storage. The throttle cable snapped on me on a memorial ride last Saturday. It was the first ride in a week... I have about 1200 miles on the FZ since I bought it, not bad considering 1 out of 2 of those weeks I was in the bed feeling like death was knocking.

Enjoy!!!
