A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello, getting back in to riding after 10 years. Bought a 85 GS750EF for some parts real cheap for my 84 GSX750SE Ltd Katana I've had for 25 years. Told it had bad engine. No( low) comp in #3 cylinder. It did! 30psi but after seafoaming crankcase 145psi ( within 10 of others). Part swap will have to wait! Gonna enjoy it for awhile first. It has a few issues but so do I! Nothing a little TLC won't cure. Forum has some good info. Thanks folks.

Cheers Will.

Hello, getting back in to riding after 10 years.

Me too (25 years).

But we must have some pictures. If she's shy, she can keep her sidecovers and other bodywork on, nothing naughty, very tasteful, just full left and right profiles.

+3 on the pics, have a special interest in seeing another 85EF.Woundn't mind seeing the pop up to:D

Thanks, Already found a ton of info to point me in right direction. The front rotors have been scored pretty bad from someone letting the pads go past the point of no return so I'm looking for used set to replace them.
I have no pics in format that this forum will allow (phone pics only at this point). She is the rare Red and Black with silver trim and full dressed! The Pop-up is Original Pearl White and black. They make a nice couple.

She is Identical twin to the one in SVsooke avitar! Seperated at birth???

It would be close but not identical,I came up with a slightly different scheme to find out the factory beat me to it.IMHO mine's better :-\\\

You are correct not identical. Same as the small pic! Your version does follow the lines of the bike nicely!

The pop-up is very rare in North America. Especially 84. Only 200 Ltd's in Canada. The following 2 years they were grey before they were discontinued. 3 year production run only. In 1994 at a gas station I was asked if it was the new years model of Katana. Not bad for a 10 year old bike. The pop-up headlight dates it a bit now but still very unique.

Besides fairings mostly the same bike as GS except a few things like brakes, hyd clutch, front dampers. The GS does feel a bit heavy and want to fall in to corners it seams. The Kat's different handle bar config doesn't seam to do that but you do lay over it a bit more. I had a 83 GS550ES in the late eighties for 2 years. This bike reminds me of it a lot. Probably a little more comfortable on long rides than Kat. All in all very happy with it.
